Chad Beebe hopes to land at No. 3 on Vikings’ receiver depth chart Few teams have the kind of drop-off that the Vikings have from their top two receivers to the rest of the bunch. In Minnesota, where starters Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen are among the best duo in the league, it’s still unclear who the No. 3 receiver will be. Chad Beebe hopes it will be him. After missing most of 2019 with an ankle injury, he appeared in 14 games last year, catching 20 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns. He wants more this season. “Last year, I think I was just trying to flip the script because of a lot of injuries in my past,” Beebe said Monday, via Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “And I stayed healthy the whole year. I feel like I gained some momentum coming into this year by staying healthy and getting a lot of game reps, so I’m excited to see how it unfolds this year.” The son of former NFL receiver Don Beebe, Chad entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018 from Northern Illinois. With Bisi Johnson gone for the year after suffering a torn ACL, Beebe now competes with Dede Westbrook and K.J. Osborn for the No. 3 spot on the depth chart. “It’s going to make us all better,” Beebe said. “In my case, it’s going to make me better, and that’s all you can ask for. I’m just going to leave it all out there. I’m a guy that, I don’t want to live with any regrets. So, I’m going to give it everything I’ve got and let the chips fall where they may.” The chips could still fall in the shape of a homecoming for Minnesota native Larry Fitzgerald. A ball boy for the 1998 Vikings, Fitzgerald could be taking a wait-and-see approach as to whether the team will put a legitimate contender on the field in 2021. Until he officially retires or signs with another team, it’s a possibility that can’t be completely dismissed. PFT
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn continues to impress the coaching staff and is angling to become the team's primary return man. The fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft was invisible last year but the work he put in during the offseason is beginning to pay off. His route-running has improved and it has helped him show off his top-shelf speed. Osborn has made consistent plays during camp and should see plenty of action during the preseason. With star teammate Justin Jefferson dealing with a shoulder injury, there will be opportunity for players like Osborn in the coming weeks. Roto Baller
yes staying healthy is so important but it's time to take the step up to elite status to win a SB, enough of the being good to very good which is another way of saying same old same old (sigh )
the Bisi Johnson torn ACL hurts okay KJ Osborne here's your chance to prove you got what it's take to make it in the NFL

Ameer Abdullah can't believe he is still here but Mike Boone is gone,Dru Samia but he's better than Kyle Hinton really? is Dru Samia the Christian Ponder of the O-line expecting him to be more than what he is
wow a minor core muscle procedure for Christian Darrisaw what does that mean? if it's not one thing its something else GO VIKINGS
Mike Zimmer is not a head coach he is a defensive coach not a HC I wish they stop trying to make him one it's painful to watch him getting outcoached again and again, is he a good defensive coach yes he is as a HC?
Defense wins Championships. If the Vikings had a defense last season, they could have made a run for it all... the offense did their job. With that offense and the revamped D, if that D is good, the Vikings are going to be there in the end. I like Zimmer to an extent... for now he is what they have and I hope they get the best out of him. I think his seat is warming, but winning this season will go a long way in cooling things down for Zim. Stay healthy offensively and play stout defense and I predict a deep run by the Vikings, but thats a ways out... 1 week at a time.
it's a prove it year now if they had a defense last year the Vikings could have made a deep run in the playoffs, it was so frustrating last year 1st half run run 2nd play like mad only to come up short and seeing him getting outcoached, just want them to have that elite mindset and win a SB before I die lol
Revamped and determined defense ready to help Vikings challenge Packers for NFC North EAGAN, Minn. -- The NFC North will be one of the more intriguing divisions in the NFL this year, largely because all the offseason drama surrounding Green Bay might create more opportunities for other teams to shine. The Minnesota Vikings happen to be one squad that should be thinking about capitalizing. They struggled last year with injuries and inconsistency. Now they're hoping a revamped defense can remind people of what they actually can be at full strength. The most stunning aspect of the Vikings' problems in 2020 -- when they finished 7-9 after reaching the Divisional Round of the NFC playoffs a year earlier -- was the demise of that defense. It has been the foundation of everything head coach Mike Zimmer has built in that franchise, and it unraveled in every way imaginable. Minnesota lost star players (including defensive end Danielle Hunter and linebacker Anthony Barr) to injuries, watched another important cog (defensive tackle Michael Pierce) opt out because of COVID-19 and failed to find enough reliable play from a crop of younger talent. The end result was a unit that couldn't stop anybody, as it allowed 29.7 points per game (29th in the league) and 134.4 rushing yards (27th). The Vikings aren't trying to distance themselves from those numbers this year. They're using them as ample motivation, evidence of how hard they need to work to return to the level of play they expect. "We want to get back to us," said co-defensive coordinator Adam Zimmer during a recent interview in training camp. "Stopping the run. Getting after the quarterback. We weren't very good in any of those areas. So this year is definitely about getting back to us." NFL.com
I wasnt so impressed with the play of either the defense or offense in game 1... they better ramp it up!
