Wow the Vikings resigned Terrance Newman quess he some gas in the tank, but I see him more of on field coach to help the young guys to get there game together
I hope Vikings can find a LB I think they can just in case Barr chases the money can the Vikings keep him?
Newman says this it after the 2018 season he's going to retire, and I hope he becomes a full time coach for the Vikings
Harrison Smith: Defense has to learn from loss to Eagles The Vikings defense allowed the fewest points and yards of any unit in the league last season and that was a major reason why they found themselves in the NFC title game against the Eagles in January. The play of their defense in that game was a major reason why the Vikings didn’t return home to play in Super Bowl LII. They gave up season-highs in both points and yards as the Eagles rolled to a 38-7 win. As the team prepares for the 2018 season, linebacker Ben Gedeon said they need to use the loss as “fuel” and safety Harrison Smith wants the loss to be an educational tool. “We didn’t deliver, so that’s something we can learn from this offseason, and hopefully we will use it in the future,” Smith said, via the Pioneer Press. “If we just throw the film away, that’s doing yourself a disservice. We want to learn from the good and from the bad, and use it all to get better for the season.” The Vikings defense had its worst day at the worst possible time. Getting a chance to reverse that this season will take the same kind of effort from the unit every week. (PFT)
Harrison Smith is right they have got to learn from this loss and so does Zimmer, what's it called RPO it just destroyed the Vikings yeah they picked a bad time to fall flat on there faces
The Vikings didn’t waste any time getting four draft picks signed. Minnesota announced Thursday it has agreed to terms with Auburn kicker Daniel Carlson, a fifth-round pick, Appalachian State guard Colby Gossett, a sixth-round pick, Tulane defensive end Ade Aruna, a sixth-round pick, and Cal linebacker Devante Downs, a seventh-round pick. That is half the Vikings’ draft class. They also drafted Central Florida cornerback Mike Hughes in the first round, Pittsburgh offensive tackle Brian O'Neill in the second round, Ohio State defensive end Jalyn Holmes in the fourth round and Central Michigan tight end Tyler Conklin in the fifth round. (PFT)
The Vikings became the first team to sign 2018 draft picks when they reached agreements with four picks on Thursday. They moved closer to becoming the first team to sign all their draft picks on Friday. The Vikings announced that they have signed tackle Brian O'Neill to a four-year contract. O’Neill was selected with the 62nd overall pick in the draft. The second-rounder started every game at left tackle for Pittsburgh last year and declared early for the draft. O’Neill made the move from tight end to tackle in college and caught two touchdown passes for the Panthers before moving on to the NFL. With O’Neill under contract, the Vikings are down to three unsigned picks. (PFT)
Do you think signing Mike Hughes will be a problem, still P.O. about not getting Sony Michel and who is going to replace Jerick McKinnon? They had a chance at Will Hernandez and nothing...i don't get the Vikings draft thinking this year
Why does the NFL lose it's mind over Weed I wonder how many player's smoke weed a lot of player's drink and the NFL they don't lose there mind...make it legal it's getting old now and really I don't give a frick
Absolutely not... he was a great pick, in my opinion. Newman is retiring and they want to keep that secondary in killer shape. Dalvin Cook? O'Neill aint chopped liver, lol.
Got my fingers crossed just hope that Dalvin Cook is not injury prone do you think that Murray can be the main man?,the Vikings might be in good shape as long as they can avoid the injury bug...there a lot of what if's
Vikings have seven of eight draft picks under contract One week ago, the NFL was still plodding through the fourth round of the draft. Now, one team has all but one of its draft picks under contract. The Vikings have announced that two more rookie draft picks have been signed, pushing the total to seven of eight. The newest draft picks under contract are fourth-round defensive tackle Jalyn Holmes (pictured) and fifth-round tight end Tyler Conklin. The only unsigned rookie is first-round cornerback Mike Hughes, the 30th overall pick in the draft. Hughes said Friday that, once he gets his contract, he’ll be buying his mother a house. He’ll be able to afford one; based on his draft position, he’ll be getting a four-year deal in the range of $10 million. (PFT)
The Vikings have re-issued the number once worn by Chuck Foreman. And the rookie who will be wearing it has a chance to leap into the 53-man roster. Literally. Mike Boone, undrafted and uninvited to the Scouting Combine, got the attention of the Vikings due in part to his jumping ability. As in 42 inches. As in 11.5 inches higher than incumbent starter Dalvin Cook from a year ago. Per Mark Craig of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Boone’s 42-inch vertical and his 11-foot broad jump would have been the best among all running backs at the Combine. His 4.45-second 40 and 25 reps in the 225-pound bench would have put him at third at his position in Indianapolis. “Not to be cocky,” Boone recent said via Craig, “but I feel I’m a little talented.” Boone, who played at the University of Cincinnati, will get a chance to prove his talent in the competition for the third tailback spot on the roster, behind Cook and Latavius Murray. The other contenders include undrafted rookie Roc Thomas and third-year veteran Mack Brown, who has only 16 career regular-season carries. While the measurable are off the charts, Boone’s college performance wasn’t eye-popping. He had 463 yards rushing (4.2 per attempt) in 2017 and 388 yards (3.7) in 2016. In 2015, he cranked out 717 yards, along with an average of 7.5 yards per rush. As a result, Boone was available to be signed by any team. The Vikings pounced, and now Boone will have a chance to translate his strength, speed, and jumping skills into the kind of performance that will make him the ideal complement to Cook and Murray. The difference maker likely will be special teams. If he can contribute there, Boone will make himself more valuable to the Vikings. In turn, he’ll earn chances eventually to play more like he did in 2015. (PFT)
Chuck Forman he had the number 44 i think that's that's right,so not to be cocky as you said.... hey Mike Boone Chuck Forman was pretty good, show us Vikings fans what you got cause now the PRESSURE really is on now
What the hell is AP problem? you really think you still got it the last time you showed a little something was when you were a Vikings....what team would take a chance on you now
