Now, let's make sure we protect him. I know he had a lot of incompletions yesterday, but he threw away about 10 to avoid a sack.
Flacco is the best replacement QB that was available by far. The Browns have lots of talent so they are fortunate to get him. I'm sure he helps them get to the playoffs.
I think all the injuries on both sides of the ball are finally catching up with them. Add in Flacco who performed well enough but not quite in sync with the offense yet. They may limp into the playoffs, but I’m not sure they’ll be able to make much noise once they get there.
psst . . . First the 2-10 Cardinals, now the 2-10 Patriots. You can hear Yinzer heads exploding way up here in Northern Ohio.
And to boot......both games were at home for the Steelers. When was the last time they lost back to back home games against sub-0.500 teams?
The last time the Steelers lost back-to-back home games against sub-0.500 teams was in 2003 when they lost to the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns at Heinz Field in consecutive weeks. The losses began a five-game skid for Pittsburgh that ended in Week 10. Coincidentally, the 2003 season was also the last time Pittsburgh had a losing season, as they finished the year with a 6-10 record.
Edge rusher Ogbo Okoronkwo is likely to miss the season with a torn pectoral suffered during Sunday’s 31-27 victory over the Jaguars, and safety Grant Delpit will miss at least the final four games of the season with the groin injury suffered in that game. It comes on the heels of Tuesday’s news that defensive tackle Maurice Hurst is out for the season with a torn pectoral suffered Sunday. Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday that Delpit, who was placed on short-term injured reserve Wednesday, had his groin repaired, and Hurst had his pectoral muscle repaired. He’s holding out hope that Delpit can return for the playoffs and that Okoronkwo can return at some point too.
