Welp, we already knew that Jed Wills is out for at least 4 weeks. Now Duwand Jones has been ruled out for week 10. Unofficially, Joel Bitonio will slide out to LT, Nick Harris will play LG and Hudson will start at RT.
So we have Teron Geron signed to the active roster from the PS and signed Justin Murray to the PS.... These aren't signings that overly excite me against the Ravens...
I'm sitting here thinking, we signed Alex Leatherwood to the Practise Squad and we STILL have to move Bitonio out to LT. Leatherwood, at one time, was the #2 overall pick by the Packers. This tells me that Leatherwood has to be the biggest 1st round OL bust since Tony Mandarich.
No worries. I gave them up for dead with 9 minutes left. Kept watching though and all I could say was “Huh, we’ll I’ll be damned. They won.”
Well…….at least the second half. That first half was awful with Watson being 6 of 20 and the pick six. Second half they stopped turning the ball over and the defense stepped up. It was a well earned win.
I dont know what Watson snacked on at halftime or what he did, but he needs to keep with it. 1st half - 6 of 20, with a pick 6... 2nd half - 14 of 14 for 134 yards with a touchdown. He also had three carries for 19 yards in the last two quarters.
I think he got on social media and saw all the shit talk against him. He finally had enough... Let's hope this lights a real fire under him and he starts playing like a viable starting NFL QB the rest of the way. If he does.. look out
To put more perspective on this, 2018 and 2021 was 10 games through the first ten weeks. All other seasons are 9 games, including Jamir Miller's 2001 8 sack endeavor. I don't know that Jamir Miller had to enure the kind of holding that Myles Garrett does on an every play basis. You can't even say a weekly basis, it's every damn play. Myles is averaging over 13 sacks per season, 17 sacks per season over the past 2.5 seasons. That puts him in the same company as the top 5 sack leaders of all time. If his body doesn't break down early, he could be in the top 25 by the end of his 9th season. If he can get to Derrick Thomas' 126.5 by the end of that 9th year, Bruce Smith's record 200 might be reachable. Bruce was in the league for 19 seasons. Bruce only had 106 after 9 seasons. It will be fun to watch Myles a TJ Watt battle it out as their careers progress..
