Kind of agree on the Ravens game. I have to believe he knew if he could play at the required level to win or couldn't. But, DTR is the main culprit in that game plus - Lamar was outstanding for the Ravens. But Pittsburgh . . . he put the 1st pass right in Harrison Bryant's hands. On Watts' scoop and score, Jed Wills admitted he "forgot" the snap count, came out of his stance late and proceeded to watch Highsmith strip Watson of the ball. No, Watson isn't playing up to his salary but he didn't cost us two divisional games.
Well, the odds are pretty good that the Browns won’t lose this weekend. And at least the offense won’t turn the ball over for a couple of scores. Happy bye week
(See avatar) Weather is beautiful and fishin's good. I am pissed that the billion dollar QB is actually a billon dollar dud. Wonder how the ownership feels. Like beating a dead horse. Here we are talking/not talking about the atrocious QB play that has plagued tis team since the return. I'm not so sure how long the Defense will be able to stave off the 49ers offense. Unless by some miracle Stephanski and our practice squad QB can put together sustained scoring drives the defense will spend a lot of time on the field and wear down. I look for the 49'ers Defense to stack the box and run blitz most of the day and our illustrious HC/PSQB won't have an answer. Hoping I'm dead wrong, but it isn't looking good for the home team. Going fishin one last time before the snow flies... I'll see how ugly it was when I get back..
Don't go yet. I’ve got your last ounce of hope to present to you. Wasn’t it rookie Colt McCoy in only his 2nd or 3rd start who defeated the 6-1 Patriots on national tv? Well, we’ve got another insurmountable game in the 49ers and we’re down to our backup QB. Is he 2nd string or is he 3rd string or does it even matter? The defense is tough. We lost our All-Pro RB, our QB is out. This is the darkest moment in the story. But all those sports movies wouldn’t lie to me. This is where the underdog David rises up to beat Goliath. It’s when Clarence the angel’s bell rings (and yes I know it’s not a sports movie but I’m on a roll here). It’s when Kelley in the little league championship hits the game winning home run for the Bad News Bears….. oh wait, shit, forget that example. Ahhhh hell, just give it one more game. Maybe they lose and we find out Watson has torn his rotator cuff and is out for the year. And then you can join me in rooting for the Detroit Lions (the Browns of the NFC).
Thanks, but no thanks. I've been a Browns fan for over 70 years. I have experienced four NFL Championships, 1-31 and everything in between. I'll probably not live long enough to see championship number 5 but I'll still be a Browns fan when my ashes are feeding the fishes. If some of you want to go root for the Chargers, the Buccaneers or the Lions, that's your decision. Just don't let the door hit you in the ass when you leave.
I'm not leaving. I’m still rooting for the Browns. I’m just letting the Lions entertain me after the Browns are done by halftime. I still dig rooting for an underdog who never gets any respect. Edit: And for what it's worth, I haven't seen anything other than The Fumble and The Drive. Born too late. However, I may never see a Super Bowl win in my life......especially with what looks +50M over the cap for next year already. Looks like they went all in on a pair of twos this year.
The Browns, who had an interception, have lost the turnover margin in every game this year, though Sunday they remarkably overcame it after throwing two interceptions of their own. -- Jake Trotter
Thank you Browns. As an Eagles fan it was annoying hearing everyone jump on the 49ers' nuts and their fans bringing back up the NFCCG and thinking they'd win if Purdy didn't get hurt like they weren't already getting smashed. The Jets can even beat us (please no) and it's still okay.
