Both home teams were gifted a second at the end of the first half today. Lots of dropped balls in both games...receivers and defenders
They need to get Mariota on the move, don't just drop him back. Roll him out, call some playaction, option, something. Don't just drop him back every play, he's going to get killed!
What's the point of having a QB with great mobility if you aren't going to use it? I know he's been banged up, but he looked pretty damn healthy last week.
steelersking Franchise Player Steelers What's the point of having a QB with great mobility if you aren't going to use it? This is what is crackin' me up about Norv who has no experience with a mobile qb at CAR
Cams entering his 8th or 9th year, and he's taken a beating in his career. He needs to start staying in the pocket more often and actually break down a defense to prolong his career, plus he'll have a whole offseason to work with Newton. Think Rivers or Bradford type mobility for Newton for the majority of his snaps next year. Good movement within the pocket, with the occasional scramble. He'll need more big plays with his arm, less from his legs. Huge difference to Mariota tonight. Tonight its do or die, and Mariota's strength is his mobility, and he's been using it all season long. Use it or you have no chance. And as I finished this, the Patriots went up 28-7. Just run the clock out and head into the offseason and save Mariota some hits, possibly a few to the head. This one is over.
They could, but they won't. Brady rarely comes out, and he rarely takes a hit once they get a big lead. More running, more 3 step drops.
