Yes. And I think I know what I have to do. Sorta hoped he'd leave Graham alone for me. But pipe dreams aside...
All of this is definitely possible, but I don't think Russell saves jobs in Cleveland, and Berry/Stefanski are probably going to try and pull a 'Nagy' and draft a quarterback for some occupational insurance.
That’s how I see it too. But I also think this is the most likely move in this scenario. I wanted to see this front office fired because I didn’t want them to make this pick desperate for a QB. They went hard after Stafford and have been courting Rodgers because I think they know they should t do it either. But it’s going to happen if they can’t get up to #1 overall and I am just not willing to trade my future for that pick.
I mean i watch tape of Levis and he just looks SO done. Put aside the physical side of things for a second, some of the decision making is SO bad, some of the processing is SO out of sync with the offense. But man Darnold looked fucking horrible at times with the Jets, so i struggle to say never with anyone tbh. Its one of the fascinating things with draft classes to me, particularly at QB. Now my 2c is worth less than most peoples 2c when it comes to the draft, but from what i've seen this looks to be an exceptionally weak QB class. But you never know! If two of these QBs wind being multiple pro bowlers it looks a hell of a lot different! That 2021 QB class looked LOADED, but look at it now. That 2018 class went form LOADED, to disappointing/bad, to pretty fucking good. The top 8 in the league in passer rating last season had 3 class of '21 QBs. You just never know and i love that.
I hear you. This was the same scenario the Bears had in '21 when desperate GM/HC made an at-all-costs move up to get Fields and got fleeced, by your Giants no less. It's crap when you're a fan and have to go through a period like this. You know bad choices are being made but there's nothing you can do. Just have to sit in the middle and suck on it.
Agonizing a bit over trying to do right by Spytek/Brady Without further ado. The Las Vegas Raiders select, Will Johnson - CB - Michigan @Dcat otc again
Funny because that “fleecing” turned into Kadarious Toney and Evan Neal. The only time Gettleman ever trades back he passes Micah Parsons and Slater because he had decided before that draft he was coming out of the 1st round with a WR no matter what. It’s been fairly embarrassing to be a Giants fan of late. And it feels like average Joe could have done a better job with the organization then the highly compensated GM’s and golden spoon owner.
I never took the trouble to look it up but Jesus thats brutal. They just re-decorate the house with your heart don't they. Stories of Bears picks from years past can only be told if there's a violin playing in the background and you're dressed all in black lol.
These are some dramatic takes lol. I try to be less pessimistic about these reflections, even for my Colts mostly. Which is odd because I think many might call me a pessimist in other parts of my life. But I for one believed in Fields and Evan Neal, at the time those picks were made. Neal wasn't my #1 Tackle in that group, but he also wasn't listed 4th for me as that was the year it was Wills/Neal/Wirfs/Becton, correct? I personally saw the risks with Becton. Physically he was as strong as anyone. But the red flags were certainly there. Philly salvaged his career by moving him to Guard. But it helps when you're between a quality Center and a hall of fame RT
lol yeah that checks out. As incredibly stupid as this franchise has been the last 10-12 years they won two superbowls in 5 years with Eli so at least I also got to live the highest of highs before they took me so low…
You are thinking of the year they took Andrew Thomas at #4 overall. They had taken Jones the season before and so they passed on Justin Herbert for on offensive tackle in hopes of making the QB look… not like Daniel Jones. Evan Neal was the Ekwonu and Charles Cross year. Giants rookie Thibideaux at 5 and then Neal at 7.
TBH i believed in Fields too. He was failed massively by the Bears in terms of giving him help, which speaks to the point Tim touched upon. The situation these guys go into and the support they're given is so so important.
