Rumors that Trey may sit without a new deal and not really too strong on the defensive rush outside of Trey. Walker still sitting this late was a no brainer, even with a deal done with Henderickson, they still need strength on the other side and Walker could be an immediate impact player, if not a year 2 difference maker.
I had a sneaky feeling he probably was who you had in mind. Seems like a perfect fit for the Bengals, and yes - you did indeed need to make a trade to get him. So if he is the one and only name remaining on your short list, then good job in making sure you got your man.
A couple DBs but nothing that wouldn't make a second round or 3rd round with the depth in this draft compared to the disruption needed against Lamar and against the top AFC offenses.
With Henderickson's future with the team looking more and more uncertain. The build to compete in the next 2 years for a championship before Joe Burrow pulls a Carson Palmer is desperately needed on the defensive side.
Yep, that makes sense. And again, you *had* to trade to get him if he was your man. I can say with certainty that one other team was going to get him if you didn't. That's absolute.
Thanks for saving me the trouble of answering, you are of course correct. Drafting IOL high isn't going to happen. If they had only made one of those moves then Campbell was Plan A & Banks was Plan B, but they just didnt need to go that way anymore. The Bears have done just enough in FA to make Jeanty a justifiable pick. As for the work of the GM, well yes, but there is a theory among more knowledgeable Bears fans that pretty much everything Poles has done this offseason could, and should, have happened a year ago. We knew Eberflus was crap and he should've gone. We know now that Ben Johnson would've gone for the Bears job a year ago if it became open. They had draft picks and a LOT of cash just like this offseason. The specific G's/C may not have been available but there were other options. Putting the greatest hope the franchise has ever had at QB through that rookie season was utterly unnecessary and utterly derelict by the GM. I would've fired him for it, and everything else, in a heartbeat. He's incredibly lucky to still have a job and when you see what Johnson just left in Detroit its not hard to give him at least 50% of the credit here, if not more.
Interesting pick. I thought Tyler Booker might be the pick here. FA has created a big hole in that interior for the Colts. They need to try and get Richardson right, keeping that running game, and the PP, strong would be a help. I've seen a lot of mocks sending the TE to the Colts, i'll be retty shocked if this pick isnt Offense in RL.
Falcons select Mykel Williams, edge, Georgia Two decades of failed attempts to draft an edge rusher... might as well give the local kid a try.
I updated the board and "fixed" the page order. (I just swapped info and renamed and swapped the page positions. Apparently that slide must be 1st so if we want it ahead later we need to make the 1st slide the current round).
We got saved a long wait. Tim got back and axed it just before I headed off. I'll pick soon unless someone up early wants it.
THE SEATTLE SEAHAWKS SELECT JIHAAD CAMPBELL, LB/EDGE - ALABAMA Some team might convert him to edge and he can certainly play edge downs but he looks like he could be a special off the ball LB as he's getting more used to the position and the defense will have uses for him on and off the ball even with Ernest Jones coming back. I think that versatility is what will give confidence in the regime possibly going LB in the 1st.
@SportsFanatic said he'd be back around 6 to make his picks. I'll be back about 7 to see if @nybites got in early for his. If not, I'll check back in around 9.
