Continuing the theme... Dolphins select Kelvin Banks, Jr Offensive tackle, Texas I don't know if the Bears would push their rookie tackle to the inside, but that's exactly what the fish will do with Banks. Two reasons - first, they need another guard, and second, virtually any weakness in Banks' pass protection is related to getting beaten around the edge. So as Mayock used to say, put him in the phone booth.
Sooo shockingly, I have heard absolutely nothing about potential trade ups to the Colts spot. So I will waffle between some names for maybe 10-15 more minutes while I find the proper net image of the player I will likely draft. Hit me soon if you're interested in coming up.
Lol... I thought you meant in the sense that I'd be picking quickly and he would be OTC right after me, since you knew I was here for the Dolphins pick.

I had at least 3 ways I wanted to go with Indy. Honestly I'm further along in my DT scouting than any other position this year. While you might think that means I have "sleepers" I like later on, the other thing it did for me was point out how much better I feel about the overall package I'm getting with Harmon than any of the more developmental (in my opinion) guys behind him. And actually, it brought up one of those funny scouting moments. I first watched his Oregon tape, and thought damn, despite not finishing on a couple potential sacks where he got to the backfield like a stud, this guy looks pretty disruptive. Just needs to work on finishing. The funny part was when I thought okay let me check out his Michigan State tape before he transferred. I hit play, and within 1-2 plays I thought "Is this the same guy?". But not because of the play, because of the build. I thought maybe the tape was mislabeled for a second. It made me laugh out loud. He looks at least 20 Lbs heavier at MSU. As I read up some more, unsurprisingly he did drop some weight. It showed lol. Anyways, no one cares. I just thought it was funny. I think despite some of the high level traits of other guys behind him, what I really appreciated about his game was the consistency with which he seems to keep his eyes in the backfield. Also he seems to shed blocks fairly consistently once he decides which gap he wants to leverage. Even once he shed that weight I still thought he did a pretty impressive job consistently controlling his gaps. But you don't draft him this high because of that. You draft him this high because you think he can be disruptive getting after the Quarterback. And I do think he has the ability to be a great player in that regard as well. Early on he can be better depth behind Buckner(31) and Grover Stewart(31), while providing some passrush alongside Buck on 3rd downs and continuing to develop his game. In the longer run I see him as one of our starters down the line. Who better to mentor a young Oregon pass-rusher than D-Buck himself, right?
Danny not gonna like missing out on a future 1st and a 6th to move down a few spots in the 1st and 2nd.
Who gets slowed down by injury anymore? Seriously though, while I have my own concerns about Johnson's tape, in the games I watched he did seem to regularly be making plays. And all the professional talking heads seem pretty comfortable regarding him as a top 10 player. The pedigree is there, the size/speed is there. And he's seen as an intelligent leader. Maybe the kicker for me was the Michigan connection, figuring Brady might have access to a little inside info on the day to day development and character of the young man. It was enough to sway me.
In most mocks, Dolphins is the earliest i have seen him picked, but each team is going to have to out their own value on him for sure.
