Of all the talk going on, this sounds like the Bearsiest thing to do.
I would settle on just one old priority, beat the fucking Packers, and everything else will follow. Why is it that this team looks more pitiful against the Packers than any other team? After that deplorable season opener against them, I thought when we made our predictions if they continued to play like that they would lose every game this year. Then this last game of Lovie ball 2.0 and this anemic offense triggered my PTSD. Why is it that a third and one is incomprehensible with this team? Fuck I guess I was spoiled by Sweetness because when the Bears needed a yard he would just fly over the top of these guys. I will say this these motherfuckers of late started to slowly pull me back in, My optimism was starting to rise and then Getsy lit his crack pipe and let go of the fucking rope.
What did we do to deserve this year after year?

I'm just hoping that, at this point, they're keeping Eberflus on to get through exit interviews, etc, and then they're going to cut him loose. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if you fire him a few days after everyone else fires their HC's. What would be the worst thing in the world is if they just didn't fire him. Mike Vrabel and maybe Jim Harbaugh are on the move, and... the Bears stick with Eberflus? Yuck.

Also, if the Bears don't have a new offensive coordinator, at a minimum, then they need to burn the building down.

It's Harbaugh (unlikely) or they are running this shit back, maybe even with Justin after the "We Want Fields" chants at Soldier. I hate this team. Getsy shouldn't have lasted the year, nor Flus.

My buddy said, "you know, I'd be real pissed at the Bears for not winning, but the Seahawks didn't even take care of business". We had 3 different fanbases watching our game and hating us, Bears fans, of course, but also the Seahawks and Saints. Hell, I'm sure the Vikings and Lions fans also were rooting us on, because FTP. And we do fuck all.

Wednesday now and still not a single peep out of Hallas Hall. This shit is so Bears. We'll get a statement today or tomorrow praising the job Eberflus has done, talking about being on the right path, staying the course blah blah blah. TTNL may have nailed it when they said 2-3years ago the buzzword was "collaboration". At the end of season presser they must've spat out that PR approved BS word 20times. And this year's word will be "continuity". Have drink every time they say it, get shitfaced.

But whatever pathetic efforts they make to spin this, the silence so far will speak louder. If they really were sold on Eberflus there would've already been a statement of support by now, it prob would've come on Monday. They're not sold on him, and they shouldn't be, but because they're all weak they will shy away from the decision they should make and instead go to the classic Bears move of trying to spin their way out of it(Iswear these fuckers should be in politics). Then they'll pat themselves on the back afterwards and everyone else will read between the lines. Eberflus will be a lame duck HC in 2024.

Taking a QB at #1, I really dont know if this how they should play if they're just gonna run this same shit back. That would mark the 3rd time in 7years the Bears have drafted a high 1st round QB and given him a lame duck head coach his first year and you've got to ask yourself what is the fucking point?! They ruined Mitch's development, they largely ruined Fields', you really gonna do this again??? You dickass fucks.

Well Getsy has been fired. Get ready for a lameduck Flus and a rookie QB. The McCaskey way.

They are gonna end up with some weak retread at OC because no one worth their weight is gonna go near that position.

We live in football fan hell. Pussy bitch owners who don't care about winning and who will never do what is necessary to take the team to the next level.

I hate this team so much.

    Eberflus is great:

    10-24 overall record
    14 game losing streak
    0-4 vs the Packers
2 consecutive 4th place NFCN finishes

His defense improved coincidentally when Poles traded for Sweat. This guy sucks. He has the locker room. So did Nagy. It is just a matter of time before they move on, he's not the guy. Now we will hire Reich or Bienemy. Don't know if they keep Justin or draft a QB, it doesn't really matter with this guy at the helm. Next year is another cupcake schedule (Bears' 2024 opponents set ) where we can lose to the Packers x2 (maybe we'll finally win one, so what?), and mediocre our way to 7 wins and talk about improvement. Maybe we'll win 8 games! WOO HOO. Fuck this team.

I gotta check out for a bit. The draft I will be curious to know what they do, but I'm not watching or following along. See you gents next year.

  10. blang84 M.V.P. Bears

Flus is going to lose 3-4 games for us on his own regardless of the talent improvement we see next year. And I promise you we are getting swept by the Packers. So 7-8 wins is probably the ceiling, whether we run it back with Fields or draft a QB. Either way Flus will be fired for failing to make the playoffs for 3 years. This shit is so easy to predict.

  11. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

You might have an offseason where Bill Belichick, Jim Harbaugh, and Mike Vrabel coach new teams / come to the NFL, and you're sticking with Eberflus? Guess my family is doubling down on other sports, next year. Cool, cool, cool.

  12. vvarder Franchise Player Bears

I know I said I was out, but I was reading a reddit thread about Pete Carrol's leaving, and so, so many comments from fans of other teams blasting the Bears, "Eberflus is still employed".

At least we're still the laughing stock of the league. I mean, it's not the Lions, and it's not the Browns. The Texans got Stroud. Who can even compete with us, Carolina?

And my buddy kept texting me snippets from the presser, oof. This team is what it is.

Gutless, fucking cowardly team. But what else can we expect from a bottom 2 franchise, struggling with the Jets for kings of the idiot mountain?

Poles can no longer do the whole 'Flus wasn't my coach,' he just tied himself to der Flus. He still hasn't 'taken the North back.'

He also said the same thing this year he did a year ago. A QB in the draft has to 'wow' him. Well...seeing as how he wasn't wow'd by CJ Stroud, I think its for the best. Can't put a 1st round QB with this lame duck coach and a lame duck OC. I'm out on this team if they do that.

They have to run this back one last time with Fields, although I get some very uncomfortable vibes when I read about how tight Kevin Warren and Kirk Cousins are going back to the Minny days, where Warren was 'heavily involved' with signing 'Mr. I can't play in prime time without shitting my pants.' In fact--timeline wise, he was named B1G commish in June of 2019 before starting the job in early 2020. Right after the Vikes (at that point) signed captain Kirk to 2 years, 66 mil extension. Or, Justin's about to learn his 3rd playbook in 4 years. That's bears-level stupid, which is sad/appalling I can't rule out either move.

Speaking of lame duck OC, the bears have already sent out interview requests, including Seattle's OC for Pete Carroll, Shane Waldron. Can't see why Waldron would want to hitch his wagon to 1 year then he's shitcanned when he can join a brand new coaching staff and a fresh start, possibly with a new QB. For a 1 year, need to strike gold or get fired--I don't have the right name, and I don't think one can be found. Fools-errand.

Speaking of lame duck coach, fuck Flus. His presser yesterday talking about how his OC needs to tailor the scheme to the talent, well what the fuck were you thinking when you signed off on hiring Getsy, fuckface?

Stupid franchise doing stupid franchise things before they wonder why the can't win games. Rinse, repeat. Find something fun to do for the next couple of months, y'all. Get some blood pressure meds, because I think we're about to watch Pace-level stupidity of spending a shitload of resources on the defense, doing jack shit on offense (maybe buying a modest C and a nobody, bum ass WR), and wondering why you have a bottom feeding offense that makes moving the sticks look painful, again.

Oooh, a cherry on top. Bears to lose a home game, as they will play in London next year as a home team in Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

  16. blang84 M.V.P. Bears

I might be out either way. Absolutely fed up with this shit. Whether or not they draft a QB may not matter because I know we have the wrong coach and ultimately that will lead to failure. I need an exorcism to get this damn team off my mind and out of my heart. Only a change of ownership might bring me back emotionally.

Speaking of ownership, I was thinking about the Cubs and their rise. They had a good manager and lots of up and coming talent, yet as soon as Joe Madden was available they fired their manager and boom World Series. Of course Flus is a bad coach so it's not a direct comparison, but the point is ownership for the Cubs didn't fuck around, when the opportunity was there they seized it.

    Fuck every McCaskey family member.

You could say the same thing about the Bulls firing Doug Collins after making it into the 2nd round of playoffs and then hiring Phil Jackson, and that worked out pretty well.

  18. patg006 M.V.P. Bears

Klint Kubiak, who got to where he is through good ol' nepotism, and can't hold and OC job for more than a year at a time without getting canned, Shane Waldron (who has already interviewed with teams probably giving him more than 1 year's chance), Greg Olson (not that GO, the Oakland/Vegas' former OC who got fired then went to Jacksonville to be OC then got fired after 1 year, went back to Oakland/Vegas to be OC for McDaniels, fired again, then Seattle's QB coach last year--but not the guy who turned Geno Smith around) and Liam Coen (former McVay staffer who went back to college and produced the 98th ranked offense in the NCAA for Kentucky, and wasn't even the top-3 offenses in the state of Ky for college football) are your candidates for bears OC.

Who's feeling good about these "top notch guys?"

George makes an ass out of himself, selling 'tradition of Chicago bears' for NFL in Europe. Not a modern, competent team. Not a winning team/team on the cusp of breaking out. Tradition. So being a bunch of pathetic fucking losers who can't stop talking about an era almost 40 years ago where most guys are dying/are already dead/have already been long dead? Cool.

Oh, and in another stroke of brilliance, the bears fired Cliff Stein.

Annnnd the old hag just turned 101. Being a fan of this team is just painful.

Cubs just did it again with Craig Counsel. Except they're too busy dumpster diving while everybody else gets better, so we're unsure about what these results will be. No clue where they're getting pitching from other than Japan from a guy who gives up way too many home runs/fly balls (this Shota guy will be target practice in summer), or a bat to replace their MVP in Bellinger. It's an election year and Ricketts needs politicians to not have him pay taxes (Ricketts spends more money on Republican primaries than he does his own baseball team, unless he's annexing/buying land in Lakeview to turn Wrigley into a circus--but that's still not the team).

Same with the Blackhawks with Denis Savard, they fired him a month into a season for Joel Quenneville.

Speaking of the Bulls, how embarrassing and ugly that ceremony was on Friday. I get the Jerry Krause hate and it's mostly justified. But the man did build a team around MJ that won 6 championships and made a ton of savvy moves to get that pinnacle. To boo his widow while her dead husband was being honored has to go down as one of the lowest points for Chicago sports fandom. The poor lady started crying. The Bulls are turning into the shitshow the Bears are and it's even sad we can't enjoy the memories of the dynasty because of the beefing and egos that are still at play. MJ should have shown up for that event and he should apologize for constantly trashing Krause and move on but he's so damn petty he'll never let it go.
