Absolutely... some real good talent still left on the board for Round 2, some that looked like auto's to go in the 1st also.
100% no for me. JJ is ranked higher for most including myself but he is more ready and Minnesota is the place that has all the tools to help him succeed. Atlanta has Cousins (the fucking irony of comparing these two teams) for at least 2-3 more years and Penix has the higher ceiling IMO but needs to learn to fix those issues. If he gets thrown into the fire I don't like his chances when he goes back and cements old habits.
DeJean is the only guy I thought for sure was going in the first. Everyone else I had a feeling could drop out for one reason or another. Only 3 corners really surprises me. I thought we'd get 4-6.
I posted it a few pages back but I'll put it all in 1 post. These were my 32 first round grades in order drafted. 32 is a coincidence. High 1st Caleb Williams Jayden Daniels Drake Maye Marvin Harrison Jr. Joe Alt Malik Nabers Rome Odunze Olumuyiwa Fashanu Brock Bowers Laiatu Latu Byron Murphy Dallas Turner Troy Fautanu Quinyon Mitchell Brian Thomas Jr. Terrion Arnold Mid 1st JC Latham JJ McCarthy Taliese Fuaga Amarius Mims Jared Verse Graham Barton Tyler Guyton Adonai Mitchell Late 1st Michael Penix Jr. Chop Robinson Jordan Morgan Nate Wiggins Cooper DeJean Kool-Aid McKinstry Johnny Newton Jackson Powers-Johnson Remaining: Cooper DeJean Adonai Mitchell Kool-Aid McKinstry Johnny Newton Jackson Powers-Johnson Day 2 Grades: Bo Nix Darius Robinson Xavier Worthy Ricky Pearsall Xavier Legette No real problem with Darius Robinson and Xavier Worthy picks despite having a lower grade. Nix I understand but wow. As far as I know the Broncos got wowed on his visit and he was their guy over Penix and JJ. I definitely saw the possibility of Pearsall and Legette going early but I really don't like it. Legette I can get behind some.
I thought maybe DeJean, JPJ, McConkey and Kool-Aid all had a 1st round shot, but like you said, it all really depended on the flow of the draft. Maybe if I say 'first round potential types' still left would be more accurate.
IMO, Worthy was a border-line 1st or second, but I had a real strong gut feeling the Chiefs were going to be all over that dude.
I would have won Tim's challenge if they waited and still got him lol. Instead they traded up and got it for BWW. lol Question is can he hold a ball? Serious question. He has drop issues lol.
I will never understand Atlanta drafting Penix. This feels so Arthur Blank rulling over Fontenot and Morris
The more i think about the Falcons drafting Penix, the more i think it was crazy. 6 weeks out from buying a $100M QB, you go QB in the 1st round? How does that win you a Super Bowl with your brand new $100M man?
meh, in a head to head, I rate that TE a grade higher than what was available at OT. I’m of the side to take the best available player to build a base. The Raiders are still building that base. I’m good with where they went and Bowers is a top ten prospect at a position that gets little love.
cOLEMAN MAKES SENSE. i LIKE IT. nOT MY FAV BUT i'M ALL FOR IT. Sorrt for caps. don't want to rewrite.
I’m on fire this year. Handled Seahawks in a mock about a week before ours started. My first pick=Byron Murphy. Y’all know I took Latu for Colts. And mock before that I handled Bills. Which WR did I take?? Keon Coleman. Sorry, just a Not-so-humble brag moment
