You can go with shorter years as long as you are offsetting the high bid. I’m not home right now so I’ll try to be concise - If your bid with shorter years would equal a higher bid based on how the years value percentage would factor in, then your bid with the shorter years does represent a higher bid. Hope that makes sense until I can give an example.
I think it made sense, my example is what I did with Brandon Cooks. I offered less years, but gave him more money than the person who gave him 3yrs. Thanks for all your help everyone!
@Silver&black Never mind what I said then, lol. Im learning things as we go along. Apparently the bid made was 3 years at $3,500,000 per, so your 2 years at $11,000,000 is $500,000 greater at 1 year less. Im glad i seen this and Im a bit smarter for it. I'll be quiet and try to keep up.
Interesting Trades Considered: Evan Engram - TE - 2Yr - $8,500,000 Brevin Jordan - TE - 2Yr - $1,000,000 Malcolm Koonce - Edge - 3Yr - $1,000,000 Bradley Chubb - Edge - 2Yr - $1,000,000 Ivan Pace - LB - 3Yr - $2,000,000 Greg Zuerlein - PK - 2Yr - $1,500,000 Ka’imi Fairbairn - PK - 2Yr - $1,250,000 Jason Myers - PK - 2Yr - $1,250,000
Go ahead and include all of the zeros so that no one gets confused. lol EDIT: Include the team names for the players as well, please. I have some help on the spreadsheets so it will just keep it cleaner for everyone.
Ivan Pace-LB Min $2,500,000 3yr Jaelan thompson-S Ari $1,000,000 1yr Jason pinnock-S NYG $1,000,000 1yr
Another dumb question: I guess we have unlimited 3 yr. and 2 yr. contracts when it comes to free agency?
Mike white-QB Mia $1,000,000 1yr Trey lance-QB Dal $1,000,000 1yr Jimmy Garrapolo-QB Oak $1,000,000 1yr
You have to make a higher cash bid for Engram. You can bid the same amount as the previous bid and add a year, but you cannot add a year and offer less. The previous high bid is $8,500,000 for 2 years.
Are the bids for multiple yrs. listed as the total or the per yr. cost? i.e. Silver&black's bid for Engram, is it 9,000,000 per year or 4,500,000 per year?
As a reference point for everyone involved - Silver&Black now has 14 open bids, which is their maximum allowable based on the number of available roster spots on their roster (21 signed, 14 open bench spots (35 max)). When someone makes a higher bid on a player, you can make another bid on any player you wish. Or, if you choose to cut a player, you would have another opening on your bench.
Another follow up.... to out bid someone who is currently offering $5,000,000 3 yr.? Would I be able to outbid by offering $6,000,000 2 yr.? .... or would that be too little because first contract is total $15,000,000 while mine would be $12,000,000 (even though the per year is higher)?
