Edmonton out shot Florida by a big margin and lost the game.......Oilers had 14 shots in the 1st period to Panthers 4 and the Panthers take game 1 by the score 3-0....Bob was the difference.

This is a funny Stat...........60 % of Canadians are cheering for the Oilers to win the Cup.......40 % are cheering for the Panthers.....I fall into the 40 % bracket because I hate the Oilers.

And the city that dislikes the Oilers the most in Canada is Calgary, Alberta.........the City Hate the Oilers with a passion......lol

Florida at Edmonton tonight and its still an 8 PM EASTERN start in spite of it being in Western Canada.

 

Canadians always do it right. They are great at the pre-game hype. A rock band, 'our lady of peace' is jamming outdoors, thousands of people everywhere and the CBC broadcast team is tops. Just wish Don Cherry was around to piss off people.

And the Good News is the Panthers beat the Oilers 4-3 and lead the series 3-0.....Yahoo Buckaroo......SWEEP

I miss Grapes on Coaches Corner as well Will.....he knows Hockey and did not care about who he pissed off....there is too much Political Correctness in todays Life.

 

Im not thrilled at all with the Oilers going down like that at home. I want 7 games.

Don Cherry is an old man now and he was an old school, traditionalist type who never really cared what people thought about his opinions. I liked that about Don, you always knew where he was coming from and he was a straight shooter. Maybe insensitive at times and a bit cantankerous, but he added a lot to the broadcast because of that, in my opinion. He was definitely not a cookie-cutter type, go with the flow/crowd guy... he might even be a tad of a racist, but he was just being as honest as he dared to be. His rants on HNIC with McClean are classics. Watching that guy get teers in his eyes talking about the military troops was always a side about him I liked, he visited them often and they loved him... I just find him interesting clear back to his being the bench boss for the Bruins. I think Ive been on X (twitter for the slow ones, lol) for about 10 years, I dont know why as I find it to be the epitome of an anti-social media... if your not controversial or bitching about someone or something your a nobody. Point being, Don Cherry and Daren McCarty following me is the highlight of my entire stay on that platform.

I digressed but Go Oilers... need 7. I can only take so much slow-motion baseball.

Did you know he played for the Vancouver Canucks.......in the Old WHL League and he was a Defenseman in the late 60's and they won the Championship....but he loved playing for the Rochester Americans.

I thinking Edmonton will win tonight and then Florida can HOIST Lord Stanleys Grail in Game 5 on Home Ice.

 

5-1, Oliers, 2nd, Bob chased. Probably the Cats threw the game just to go home and lift the Cup.

 

8-1 was the final. FLA up, 3 games to 1... series resumes Tuesday night in FLA. McDavid, Draisaitl and Hyman need to get on their horses.

 

IF............(biggest word in the Dictionary)........IF Edmonton wins game 5 in Miami then you get your wish Will for a 7 game series.

BUT I'm hoping the Panthers can get er done Tuesday night on Home Ice and Hoist Lord Stanleys Grail.

The thing about game 4 was the Oilers SuperStars played like SuperStars... that must continue throughout the remainder, but, If Bob is on his game, well thats why they play the games.

Im not really going out on a limb when I say that the Oilers fans and the entire production and presentation in Alberta is as best as it gets.

Outscored the Cats, 18-5 to take 3 straight. Thats what i was thinking may happen, didnt look like it the first couple games.

If the Oilers win on Monday in Sunrise, the Oilers would become only the second team to successfully make the comeback after being down in games, 3-0 to win the Stanley Cup (1941-42 Toronto Maple Leafs).
