In her defense, she's been busy making sandwiches for BWW head coach thread, oh and tuning up her van.
Land in Belfast turn on my phone is this is what I get. The next 3 years minimum are all about developing the QB and installing something the rest of the league might identify as an offense, so what do they do, hire a defensive coach. And a 4-3 defensive coach and that. This fucking team man.
Oh and while I'm being a grumpy fuck, this is an immediate mark down on Poles as well. So the only 3 names he wanted to talk to for the HC position just happened to be the same 3 finalists the clown car came up with? Yeah right. They told him who he was interviewing and he did as he was told. These shits will never learn. Welcome to 2022, same as 2015.
Hey they could trip fall over and win the lottery. I'm just saying the way they've gone about this whole thing from about 30seconds into George's presser to now has been completely flawed. Completely ass backwards. And completely consistent with every other time when they've totally fucked it up. It blows my mind how fucking dumb these guys are.
Questions for folks who've been watching this sorry ass team longer than me (basically before the early 90s): Who was the best Bears HC you've seen? Have we ever had a good HC?
While I agree with your other point on how they went about this, I am not immediately shitting on this hire. If my choices are Quinn, Campbell or Eberflus, I take Eberflus. The positives are that he prides himself on discipline and accountability, things that have been sorely lacking on this team for a long time. No club dub, less fucking chirping, sign me up. The downside is switching back to 4-3, and that he's a defensive minded guy. But as I said before, this doesn't bother me in and of itself. If this guy is the RIGHT guy to get this ship righted, I could give a fuck. Belichek is a "defensive minded" coach, but he's good because he gets the most out of his team and has hired good OCs. There are other examples of defensive minded coaches that get the most out of talented offense because they are good coaches. I mean, we just came off a guy who was maybe a "good" head coach (I don't think so, but the argument could be made) but needed....an OC, yet he was offensive minded. I want this guy to be a good head coach, utilize the players he has, and be involved at a higher level. Who he hires as OC, and how good they end up being matters way more now sure. I don't fault people who feel he might be Lovie 2.0. I also don't fault those that feel like this process is identical to the John Fox hire. And I think George is a goddamn idiot. But on paper, I don't think these moves are instantly stupid.
Ditka. It's fashionable to shit on him now, but he hired Buddy Ryan who created that dominating defense. An "offensive minded" coach hiring the appropriate guy to run the defense. After that, ranking the garbage the Bears have had, it's got to be Lovie. He couldn't find an OC to save his life and the game moved past him, but he still had a solid locker room, Super Bowl appearance and several playoff appearances. So "good" on a sliding scale? Both of these guys were good, probably not great. Have the Bears ever had a great coach? Halas I guess, but that's before my time, heh.
As in being an actual coach...Ditka. He knew how to let his coaches coach. Lovie was great at handling the locker room. The rest can all line up and blow me.
Sorry sorry ... I need to improve my game here; to follow the glowing examples that you all set ... Ha ha ... Okay I think I trimmed the stickies down.
This is an unprecedented and unprovoked invasion of my privacy!! Where I come from has NOTHING to do with the crappy job I do here. I DEMAND that you stop outing me you low-down, yellow-bellied, pond-scum-sucking pigdog! Do you have any idea how unhealthy it is to eat all of that bread all the time? I'm making a lifestyle food choice for all of you. You will all enjoy this thick, creamy green kale smoothie I've made you and you'll end up thanking me for it after you're done. Or else.
