Same here. I dont just expect him to shit the bed, he'll shit the house. The 9ers have had two big, emotional wins the last two weeks and now they go to a team that keeps winning and is rested. I dont expect it to be close.

The only real hope for keeping the Peckers out of the SB at this point is Brady going up there and pulling it off again. But the Bucs dont look nearly as convincing to me this time around. There was a tangible vibe around that team in the playoffs last year. You could feel it coming together for them. Between a heavily degraded WR position and a lessened D they dont have that this year.

If the Rams go up there they will fold. I dont trust Stafford and the Rams as a whole are a team i find unconvincing in big games. Or at least, in stringing together big games, which is what the playoffs are. And what the regular season was when, after going 3-0 in powder puff games against the Giants, Lions & Texans, they then went 0-3 in big consecutive games against the Titans, 49ers & (yes)Packers. Also, i've long felt the Rams, like their HC, are not tough. They are more a finesse team than a power team. I think GB has their number.

I too am still invested for the sole purpose of seeing GB lose. The Titans have acted like such classless punks at times this season it would be nice to see them not win it, but even that is no kind of deal breaker. Really i dont give a chit who wins as long as its not those shitheads up north.

Well i see the first GM candidate i'd never heard of until a couple weeks ago his been hired. Giants make the move and the first domino falls. I could see things accelerating now. The Bears, with their candidates list thats as long as my arm, seem to still be wading thru the first round of interviews.

Gonna re-iterate my call on who it ends up being. Ireland-Frazier would be worst case scenario. Altho Jim Caldwell would be sneaky horrible.

Mostly tho i think the Bears will continue what is becoming an established pattern. The next HC always seems to be the opposite of his predecessor. From the relative stability of the Lovie years, we had an outside the box hire/brane implosion hire from Canada with 0 NFL HC experience. From that mushroom cloud they went to a long established(and shit) HC name that could bring reliability/stability. After the Fox nightmare it was back to the cutting edge with an incredible offensive mind who had 0 experience at HC, play calling, or anything else not involving the coffee run.

Similarly upstairs the Bears went from one of the older GM hires never to have been in the job(Emery) to i think the youngest or 2nd youngest GM in the league in Pace. Im expecting the pendulum to swing back with this one too. We are about to be sold on the virtue of experience.

The sad, morbid reality of the last part is that Erin is probably gone if they win it all but back for 2 more embarrassing curb stompings, so I am torn--because selling the team or even having someone not Georgie being the top guy or even just dumb luck can't save the bears. I'm apathetic and hungover enough to not have any real expectations for this team until a new QB plays in GB. And from what I've seen of Jordan Love in the flashes of preseason/garbage time/injury/Covid--if he's the guy, there wont be 3 HOF QBs in a row.

I think the Rams can beat 4/10 times, not at Lambeau. The 49ers are probably the best team to do it because they know how to use their shifty weapons, can run maul ginormous lanes, and have Kittle who can just fuck around when your slow LB or undersized S leave so much room for error--no matter how much I like Adrian Amos, unless whoever runs GBs defense forgets about Gronk--because stopping he and Mike Evans means Brady has to settle for small Cam Brate routes--and that won't beat GB.

I still for the life of me don't get Ireland. He was Mayock before Mayock--just on Espen instead of NBC blowing Notre Dame. Or Dennis Allen for that matter.

Caldwell doesn't blow my skirt up either, but one thing to watch out for that can make me stomach him better? Wink Martindale. Ravens and he mutually agreed to part ways and assuming we aren't getting the warm and fuzzy reunion with Vic Fangio--Martindale paired with Caldwell is an experiment I could tolerate. Is Caldwell going to be calling plays?

The correct time to hire Jim Harbaugh was about five minutes before you fired Nagy to give him time to prepare a statement.

Not fond of Caldwell but he’s also not the worst candidate they’ve talked to. Wouldn’t hate the Martindale connection either.

I don’t know how I feel about Leftwich. Feel like that could be really good or really bad. He’s a smart guy. I just don’t know if he can lead a whole staff and the locker room.

Bears apparently are intrigued by both Ryan Poles and Eberflus.

There are a lot of potentially good GM candidates right now. Which is why I fully expect the Bears to fuck this up by just hiring Polian himself or something else dumb.

    Go Niners

If they go down in spectacular fashion either this week or next, I think Erin might be gone. If they win the Super Bowl, or lose a close game this postseason, I think he'll be back and better than ever next year. Another way to say it is that I think he's almost certainly coming back. Why wouldn't he? He owns the division (minimum 5 divisional wins a year if he comes back), has a good young HC and talent all around on both sides of the ball. He's a spoiled diva and doesn't realize how good he has it up there. No where else can it be so easy for him, not Denver, not Pittsburgh, ok well maybe SF but they just drafted Lance and play in a way tougher division.

As for the GM/HC search, with each passing day I care less and less, only because of my certainty that Gerogie/Teddy will absolutely blow this. The only thing I wonder is what Polian is actually doing. It's not like Georgie hired Polian to hire a GM/coach, because we all know Georgie gets the final say on both those positions. So Polian is just a consultant sharing his thoughts with Georgie? Is he simply sharing a list of guys he likes? Is he just patting Georgie on the back? What exactly is he doing and why should we care?

49ers offense didn't come ready to play tonight. Oh well. Fuck Erin.

Wife and kid have COVID, so I have been taking care of them and haven't had a chance to watch. Looked at the score, saw "7-0" and thought, "There's a chance!". Then I saw Jimmy G's 3 of 9 and an INT, and figured this game is going to go just like we thought.

It's easy to point to special teams but Erin deserves a huge share of the blame. Several times he avoided throwing the checkdown and waiting for something to develop deep, only for it not to happen.

His last pass, hopefully ever, the home run into double coverage for Davonte, but he had Lazard wide open on a crossing route 20 yards downfield that would've been a huge first down at the time.

Really loved that the Packers only had 10 players on the field for Gould’s game winner too.
