The Colts sign Dion Novil / DT / North Texas The Jets sign Derrick Deese Jr. / TE / San Jose State The Niners sign DaRon Bland / CB / Fresno St
The Titans now sign Reggie Roberson, WR, SMU Was decently thought of last year, let’s see if we can get him healthy and he can be our deep threat
So I had said I had an interesting 4th signing for Indianapolis. What I think is interesting about that signing for Indy isn't just that he's an intriguing small-school guy that no one has mentioned. It's also that I took him as a UDFA for Indy last year as well. LOL Since you are so far down the prospect lists by that point, it's actually common enough to find guys who look intriguing, but who at the same time you can not find enough info on to be sure whether they are draft eligible or returning. I had no idea at the time that he was going back to school. But as I got deep into scouting this year I saw his name as eligible (has attended pro day now), and thought "oops, accidental cheating last year". I found at least one more guy like that from a previous year (don't think the other one was mine). I think we've had at least one per year happen like that for the last 3 years.
It's really tricky because only underclassmen have to declare themselves draft eligible. Since 2020 doesn't count, every year we take it for granted that seniors will go pro - but any of them can return for one more year.
Eagles sign Xavier Newman-Johnson, G, Baylor Bills sign Tariquios Tisdale, DE, Ole Miss Chargers sign Devin Harper, LB, Oklahoma State Falcons sign Randy Charlton, DE, Mississippi State
Commissioner - "With the 9th selection, the Seattle Seahawks select Charles Cross, OT - Mississippi State." Me - Nailed it!
I love it even more with your one-two punch of trading for Mayfield. You instantly got your new franchise QB - who won't even have to go through the rookie learning curve - and someone to protect his blind side.
As a side note, you can still add UDFAs for the Seahawks and your other teams. They don't seem important now, but sometimes those guys turn into home runs - and you might pick some that end up getting drafted in the 6th or 7th rounds, basically getting you "stolen" free picks for your team.
Ok. I'll try... Thanks for letting me in the draft. it was fun. and it's fun to follow with real draft
