Somebody who have my digits send me a message when Buffalo is up and if it's within the next few hours don't be afraid to remind me every 15 minutes or so in case I miss it. I'll probably be napping after pulling an all nighter because I'm an idiot ( and genuinely couldn't sleep). I can't trust my brother to look when I'm always the one reminder ng him. Lol
We need a board update. I'd be happy to do it but I don't have access. Here's the picks that haven't been updated; 11. WAS - Jameson Williams, WR - Bama 12.MIN- Garrett Wilson, WR - Ohio State 13. GB- Chris Olave, WR - Ohio State (trade with HOU) 14. BAL - Jermaine Johnson, Edge - FSU 15. PHI- Derek Stingley, CB - LSU 16. NO- Drake London, WR - USC 17. LAC- Treylon Burks, WR -Ark 18. PHI - Jordan Davis, DT - Ga 19. NO - Trevor Penning, OT - UNI 20. PIT- Trent McDuffie, CB - Wash
Mac does actually seem to have a good sense of what to look for in a QB. He loved Mahomes and tried to get the Giants to move up for him but organizationally they didn't want to move on from Eli. If I remember correctly he had Josh Allen as QB1 in 2018. He knows how to look at QB's and he knows how to work with them. He actually is good at drawing up and installing a red zone offense as well. I just honestly don't know if he is "capped out" as a QB coach.
I do think the perfect scenario for Chris Olave would be to wind up in Green Bay. He and Aaron Rodgers would be lethal.. Such a precise route runner. I believe they would have great chemistry. Hopefully it happens, it would be fun to watch.
Starting to sound like a Live arm might be his #1 trait. Then again if he loved Mahomes it’s not like Deshaun had a weak arm either
It might be. But he also believes there are a lot of mechanical things he can fixed so I think he believes he can take raw talent and make it a QB. Which has me thinking he would love to get his hands on Willis. Eli was fading by the time Mac came in but he did get him to rework some stuff. He just wasn't mobile enough for what Mac wanted to do. Darnold was pretty weird about his throwing motion and thinking it didn't need changing when he was coming out of school. Maybe he is willing to try and change now to salvage his career. If he puts in the work Mac will get some of the mechanics improved. I haven't watched Darnold play in a long while... but he certainly had a live arm and the mobility Mac looks for.
Board is updated. Hmmm.... I might need to add something to the spreadsheet to show which teams have/don't have future picks. That might help everyone when negotiating trades with future picks. I'm guessing that's why no one wanted to post a "confirmed" message for the GB/HOU trade - no one had an easy place to find out if the future pick was okay. (It's fine. Trade is official as it stands - no adjustment to the future pick is needed.)
Exactly. He looks for upside and he believes that mechanical issues CAN be fixed if the QB is willing to work on them. (The "willing to work on them" is the hard part. Too many young QBs are more into being a football star than being a football player.) He's also big on upside, admitting he's more likely to go after the home run type prospect. So now that Willis is off the board, I can say that I agree - he would go after Willis in this year's class over Pickett.
That part caught me by surprise. We had as many picks before 9:30am today as we did yesterday. I figured we'd have two or three early morning picks, but ten? Wasn't expecting that.
This is also the first of our mocks that I can think of where we've had FIVE wide receivers go in the top 20 picks. There are usually one or two guys fairly high up, but then it's usually late second to the late third round before we start to see a true run on wideouts.
I will be honest, I was going to take Olave if TD didn't trade. At the same time, I thought ONE of the top 5 would drop to 22 after making the trade and the Texans need so much that I thought gaining the extra draft capital would be worth not getting my choice. Now I am doing a little bit of a fire drill trying to see what the best option is with the top WRs gone. Lucky for me, the Texans need so much that a choice between the top 2-3 available automatically hits a need.
This run is not ideal for the Titans so we’ll listen to offers to move back and grab more picks, but when the pick comes up I’ll make it quick if no one has said anything
