Hooray!!!!!! Finally a phuquing kicker!!!!! See-BS Sports is giving that pick a D+ calling it unnecessary. The Browns were an NFL worst 77% kicking team last year. It WAS a necessary pick cause they sure as hell can't find one in FA every year. Frickin' Azzhats at See-BS!!!!
Pretty sure we getting dinged on that because it's the 3rd placekicker we've drafted since 2017. (Gonzalez, Siebert). I used to really care about draft grades, but seriously, how many times have they crowned the Browns as "champions of the offseason"? I caution Ravens fans. It looks like you won the weekend IMO, but I don't think it's time to bust out the champagne just yet.
I drafted York in about 90% of the mocks I did this off-season … though I always got him In the 7th round. Kids as big a stud as kickers get. 15 of 19 from 50+ yards in his collegiate career. This was actually one of my favorite picks, lol.
I don’t really care about the grade on the kicker. Drafting one was a necessity. The critic of the pick has paid absolutely no real attention to the Browns. And if you don’t know what you’re talking about, then you shouldn’t have been the writer to critique the pick. Our kickers have sucked and cost the team several games every year. Gonzalez and Siebert were afterthoughts for the most part. The team pretty much threw darts at the board for those two guys. York was the best of the group and yes he still has to prove himself in the NFL. But finally this team addressed the one weakness you guys hear me bitch about almost every year. Hopefully you all won’t have to hear me gripe for a good long time.
BROWNS UDFA SIGNINGS D'Anthony Bell, S - W. Florida Julius Faulk, CB - Delta State Michael Harley Jr., WR - Miami Felix Harper, QB - Alcorn State Travell Harris, WR - Wash St Brock Hoffman, IOL - Va Tech Silas Kelly, LB - Coastal Carolina Glenn Logan, DT - LSU Zaire Mitchell-Paden, TE - Florida Atlantic Ben Petrula, OL - Boston College Malik Smith, TE - Fisk (Brother of OSU's Tyreke Smith who was drafted by Seattle) Isaiah Weston, WR - UNI
I have to admit, I don’t know any of the UDFA players. Never know where the next diamond in the rough comes from though.
I've never even heard of the school Malik Smith went to. Fisk? In case anyone is wondering, it's in Nashville.
I really liked the David Bell tape. Seen him live a few times last BIG season and he really was good. He can go up and bring it down. Great talent, great pick!
Agreed. I've had him pegged as target for Cleveland in the 3rd for a while. Maybe doesn't blow up the testing, but he's just a really good football player, and I love the pick where we got him. Outside of Metchie, the closest thing to Jarvis Landry in this draft IMO. It's funny because we drafted two WR's. One is a marginal athlete with crazy good production (David Bell), and the other is an athletic freak (Michael Woods) with marginal production...
Normally it would be quality over quantity, but what if you are in a draft where 50-60 prospects are rated about the same? I think that’s what Berry ran into here. At that point, the more the merrier.
