In his defense the dude is kinda built like a basketball player. I'm not sure what's not to like though? Could be the next Strahan in Big Blue.... Long legs and arms, he makes plays with that ranginess the most guys could never make. All the traits of a great Edge rusher IMO. When he adds more muscle into that frame, he should be unstoppable. I like Rousseau quite a bit.

Well I certainly never scouted Strahan in college so I can't speak to that.

Too much projection to his game for me to feel comfortable with this kid. Biggest impact seems to be when he is playing inside when he is feasting on lesser athletes rather than on the edge. He doesn't look fluid on the field. The basketball player thing is right but for a guy with that kind of length I don't feel like he knows what the hell to do with it when he is rushing the passer but he does an excellent job of using his reach to get a hand on guys in the open field. I get his decision to sit out 2020 -- but I am just not comfortable with his resume to take him this high. I think the fluidity is big for me. His change of direction lacks suddenness. I am seeing a guy that NFL tackles are going to run around the pocket all day long.

That said I may have mentioned I am spending much less time with guys than I typically would. I think he is more like when the Giants gambled on JPP. They liked the traits and thought they could turn him into a pass rusher. They were right on JPP but I am just not feeling this dude.

Time will tell on Rousseau. I wish we could have seen him in 2020 and had more tape, but I've read that he has bulked up a little and is in great physical shape as he spent the year preparing for the NFL. He's got all the tools to be a force. I see an ascending player with outstanding potential.
