I Promise Promise Pinky Promise to have this done Wednesday. (2 days away). Running into life issues that won’t give me more than 20 minutes a night to work on it.
Sorry @TopDawg and others. I've finished scoring each player. Now I just have to plug the numbers into each entry. Should have final results up this Saturday
Littler Teaser Finished scoring all the drafted correct entries. And I have alphabetical scores for all players chosen, just haven't done the math on every entry. But for DRAFTED CORRECT ONLY, here's the rankings: 1) @LAOJoe 84pts 2) @ShanePHallam 67pts 3) @TopDawg 10pts 4) @RTTRUTH -14pts 5) @RicoL8 -26pts 6) @Quew777 -29pts 7) @Tim -29pts 8) @StlCrtn -48pts 9) @turf_toe -65pts 10) @Willie -70pts
Brevin Jordan and Jaelon Darden were big negatives. And you didn't have the huge positives that 3-4 other people did.
And I say that as someone that doesn’t understand it, and will likely never put in the effort to educate myself.
RT didn't understand it until we talked again a couple days ago. His system was fine but the scoring didn't click. When you understand it you can bust the scores out quickly enough.
We already have, multiple years in a row, but always get too busy near the draft to do it, lol. But we are going to put an effort to do it well before draft season.
Honestly Joe took the initiative to create what is sort of a cool game. But it's been overdue for an overhaul for at least three years. And I'm sure changes are coming for next year. In my opinion some things are worth too much while others too little. I'd like to tweak the scoring weight. And it takes too long to score. And ideally we'll adjust it to the point where every participant can easily score their own entry in 45 minutes or less. I'm thinking next year I'd like to have risers/fallers based much more on overall draft slots and less on rounds. Especially since say round 3 might have 42 selections while another 35. I think if I give it an honest 1-2 hours of thought I can come up with a simpler game that ultimately is just as fun and challenging.
I should add, someone with a much better understanding of Microsoft excel or Google sheets could probably find a way to score this MUCH easier than myself. I believe you can just let their algorithms do the additions for you, if you know what you're doing.
I honestly think it’s pretty fucking awesome of an idea. But I think I’ve only ever glossed over the scoring the first year I participated, and my brain instantly went to “yeah, too much to process.” lol
Ya. We had some good ideas the last couple months. Rounds are mostly going to be done away with outside of player selection or UDFA scoring. I wrote most of it down somewhere but some other things I thought of were better but I was sure I wouldn't forget and I did. So I'll need to write it down as soon as it comes to me again.
Give me some edibles, RT on the other line, preferably on some too, and a secretary to write shit down and we'll bang out the new format in 1 night and it'll be sponsored by the league within a year.
