NYI over the hockey team from Philadelphia NYI over TB Vancouver wins the SC. It’s their 50th season, and they deserve it.
Islanders. Too much firepower. Hart cant keep this up... he's been good and this will or should be a great game. OT wouldnt surprise me either.
Vancouver wins the SC. It’s their 50th season, and they deserve it. Tough loss for the Canucks Dan.......but moving forward we have a very good young team.......I want the Canucks to sign Markstrom and Trade him. I now have Dallas vs NYI for the Cup.......
Well, I think Demko made it damned near impossible that the Canucks will trade him. He just looks like a starter for years. Markstrom is what he is, a better than average goalie who had a good year. If they can sign-and-trade Markstrom, more power to ‘em. But, why would Markstrom give up his leverage? Well, he would if he were overpaid; but then, which team would trade for an overpaid G in this market? I think the Nucks just cut bait and count their blessings that they have Thatcher.
You have the potential for a long run as SC contenders. It’s not a sure thing, but that’s just because Vancouver is such a young team. And there were loud rumblings about axing the GM not very long ago. (He’s who I wanted when the Sabres hired Murray.)
I’d think the ideal situation for Vancouver would be to sign Markstrom for 2 years. Demko was great for a few games here in the playoffs but his overall NHL numbers lead me to believe that a slow transition to him is the best route. VV, you and I are on the opposite sides on this, I’ve got TB over LV.
Steven Stamkos is out for the Tampa Bay Lightning against the New York Islanders in the Eastern Conference Final. "He's not available. He didn't skate today," Lightning coach Jon Cooper said Sunday. "He's not going to play in the series." Nikita Kucherov will be available for Game 1 of the best-of-7 series at Rogers Place in Edmonton... NHL.com
I have to admit that the crews in charge of the ice for these games have done a fantastic job. i really thought it would be a disaster by the 3rd day. that said, the ice in Edmonton seems much faster than what was going on in Toronto, recently anyway. puck seems to stay flat in Edmonton vs Toronto.
