This is what the first 15 picks in the draft will look like. ROUND 1 ORDER 1. New York Rangers 2. Los Angeles Kings 3. Ottawa Senators (via San Jose) 4. Detroit Red Wings 5. Ottawa Senators 6. Anaheim Ducks 7. New Jersey Devils 8. Buffalo Sabres ======================== 9. Minnesota Wild 10. Winnipeg Jets 11. Nashville Predators 12. Florida Panthers 13. Carolina Hurricanes (via Toronto) 14. Edmonton Oilers 15. Pittsburgh Penguins (Or Minnesota Wild)
Let’s face it, Lafreniere is probably ecstatic that he’s going to Broadway instead of someplace like Kanata. I would have liked to hate that the NYR have gotten THIS lucky two years in a row after Buffalo has gotten lucky zero years in a row. (Dahlin was not luck, being the worst was just status quo for Buffalo.) But, I may be worn out, but I just said “jeez” and not “fu€<ing hell!” to the news. The Leafs do not pick 1st. That’s something worth celebrating!
The Buffalo Sabres are accustomed to getting humped by the NHL. (Proof? Look at that “goal” with Hull’s foot in the crease.) I’ve kinda gotten over it since ownership now seems to be in cahoots with fu€<ing over the fanbase. Except for the Sabres very FIRST draft Dan......they did OK and Humped the Canucks.......lol The Leafs do not pick 1st. That’s something worth celebrating! ...........Blow Leafs Blow.........lol
The 2020 NHL Draft will be held virtually with Round 1 taking place on Tuesday, Oct. 6 beginning at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Rounds 2-7 will be held Wednesday, Oct. 7 beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET on NHL Network.
Per, NBC The Rangers won Phase 2 of the 2020 NHL Draft lottery in August and will select first overall. Rimouski Oceanic (QMJHL) winger Alexis Lafreniere is expected to go No. 1. After that? It could go a lot of different ways. Quinton Byfield (Sudbury – C- OHL), Tim Stutzle (Adler Mannheim – C/LW – DEL), Lucas Raymond (Frolunda – LW/C – SHL), Jamie Drysdale (Erie – D – OHL), Marco Rossi (Ottawa – C – OHL), Cole Perfetti (Saginaw – C – OHL), Jake Sanderson (D – USNTDP) are among the top prospects expected to be selected early.
I’ll answer for Will. I’d like the Wings to take Perfetti. (That would make it more likely that Rossi falls to the Sabres.) Rossi, Perfetti, or Drysdale would all be good picks. (I don’t know Detroit’s pipeline well enough on D to contrast RHD vs. LHD, so it’s possible that Sanderson could fit at 5.). Next year is expected to be a banner draft for D, but blueliners traditionally take longer to produce in the NHL. So, in the end, I expect SY will stick with BPA regardless of position.
The Wings wouldnt do bad with either tho... Perfetti is a skilled player also. I hope 1 of the two land up in red & white.
The Hockey Writers' Mark Scheig spoke to Perfetti a few days ago and asked about the possibility and the proximity of the Red Wings. "I've had some good talks with them (the Red Wings), a couple of times," Perfetti told The Hockey Writers. "I have another talk with them coming up this week. It's crazy to hear people talking about that. I don't think they even know who they're taking yet with there still being 3 1/2 weeks to go. There's a lot of great hockey players in this draft. I'm just trying to stay away from that and keep my head focused. When I have an interview with any team, I want to make the most of it and show who I really am. "It would be really cool to play in Detroit being only an hour down the road from them and then be really close to my billets who I've grown very close to. I consider them my second family. I talk to them almost every day since I've been home. They've been amazing to me and I can't thank them enough. To be only an hour away from them would be awesome. At the end of the day any team would be amazing and I'd be honored and thrilled to hear my name called to play for any organization."
Big night tonight fellas. Let the rumors fly lennie! OEL reported to have given the Arz brass a Friday deadline to be dealt to Boston or Vancouver. Laine to...........? Stutzle over Byfield to LA? Matt Murray and Jack Campbell were teammates at Sault Ste Marie and the GM at the time was Dubas or something so Toronto lennie seems to be trying to facilitate a Murray trade so they can write cute puff pieces until the season actually starts. Minnesota inquiring about either Columbus goalie, which is smart because theyre both studs. keep it coming lennie!!!!!!!
