Ya, bad on us for even thinking we could compete in the AFC North. We've sucked for so long now that it's written in stone that we will suck forever. Pittsburgh only sucked for the 1st 42 years of their existence before they turned it around. Baltimore has never really sucked. But they had a 46 year head start when they joined the NFL. Silly us.
i think the Steelers without Bell and Brown are toast. JuJu will be double-covered every play now and he showed in week 17, he can' handle that every play. Connor is a solid RB, but now without Brown. they will double the box as well. Baltimore is putting all their eggs into the hands of Jackson now as QB. That's a tall order as well. Division is ripe for the taking and the Browns have their knives and forks out ready to take it !
Best of luck with that. I try to stay away from the pre season hype. But I'll be watching. And maybe somewhere deep down inside, I might even be pulling for them.
the champ was 65-1 and didn't run in the preakness. the real champ was DQ'd and will only run against the other 3 horses from the Derby at $5000 each if they beat him. no one gives a shit now as the TC was ruined by the DQ rule.
I was just saying, what happened to talking about the ponies? The thread got sidetracked to trash talking football teams.
OH now settle down boys. There are still a lot of grade 1 stakes races left this year. But none of them will really matter until THE BREEDERS CUP. It will get settled there. In my eyes ? The Breeders Cup Classic means more than the Kentucky Derby does anyway. Yeah. You heard me !!!
Oh hell yes. In years past, they've brought in horses from Europe or Japan. It's a crap shoot. It's a long way to go for these little guys,,,,,,,,,,,,,, But that last quarter mile says volumes.
Been on the WOWill camp from day 1 when it was a 17-1. I felt he got cheated in that first race. If he wins the Belmont I'll consider it his TC. Canadian and descendant of Northern Dancer, I'm all in.
SoCal you seem like a horse guy. someone asked me once name the best horse ever not named Secretariet. i said easy "Cigar!" He scoffed at me. i saId go look him up. he won like 12 or 13 races in a row. maybe 16. won tons of money and in some fancy race over in Dubai, he was losing and at the end, he made a comeback and came all the way the back to win. i think it was one of his last races. the announcer was all excited and called it perfectly. i think he ended the call with "at the wire, the winner is the unbeatable..... Cigar!" Or something like that. He was amazing. He ran in 94-95 or 95-96.
Northern Dancer ?? You had to go aways back in the pedigree to find that name. He was one of those horses that was a better success in the breeding barn than on the track. Just looked at the entries. Tacitus is back !!! And the early favorite. Watch him. At the top of the stretch he will be nowhere to be seen and then he'll go like a runaway freight train. My kinda horse. And with that long front stretch at Belmont, He'll have plenty of time to work the magic.
Best horse not named Secrateriat ??? WOW Off the top of my head, 2 came to mind. Affirmed. He would not let another horse get ahead of him. He would have run himself to death first. American Pharaoh. Much like Cigar. Almost unbeatable. Then I thought, wait a minute. What about the great geldings of the past. Kelso Forgo Vigors John Henry They were all gelded as 2 year olds b/c they were completely unmanageable on the track. All they wanted to do was screw and fight the other horses. And not necesseraly in that order. What do you do ?? You geld them and take the fight out of them. And they ran for years. Vigors went until he was 6. Forgo and Kelso were 7. John Henry ran and WON races as a 9 y/o. Hell..... Pick one. I won't argue with you.
never heard of any of them i know a little horse history including every TC winner ever. American Pharoah was great, but to me, not as great as Cigar. again, he was undefeated for a long time and won 12-16 in a row !! who else has done that ??
1964 was ND year, he won the kentucky, Preakness and Queens plate. A prized stud, was offered $40M as a 20 year old in '81, it was turned down.
