It wasn't a crazy value difference by that chart. Steelers gained the equivalent of a 5th rounder. In 1st round trade terms that is pretty close.
Honestly i would have drafted Devin White. But for this exercise i wanted to use the extra draft picks to take a deeper look at the draft and my Broncos have a depth problem. My draft prep was a delayed this yr
Exactly right... I'm working while typing, so my attention is divided. I had skipped over this year's $2.5M signing bonus as it's already reflected in this year's cap figure but used the full cap figure rather than just the base when subtracting. It should have been $19.9M base salary - $5M future accelerated cap = $14.9 million savings. I don't know the details on the workout bonus. If it hasn't been paid yet for this year, the new team would pick up that obligation as well.
I say great job pulling the trigger and making the trade that a lot of people would have skipped. Now it's up to you to make the most of that extra pick.
Typically the workout bonus is for doing things in the off season set forth by the club. The workout bonus is usually paid at the beginning of the new league year. Obviously there are exceptions. I can't find the exact terms of these workout bonuses, but it does say he only has to participate in 85% of those workouts laid out in the contract. I am sure they are not for the team work that will be starting in April, so I would be shocked if the 2019 workout bonus hasn't already been paid. Edit...scratch that...This probably is based on the upcoming team workouts that are not mandatory, so that bonus may not have been paid yet...
I'm hanging around for my pick (Falcons, #14, 2:30) in case anyone needs to PM me. Not planning on moving down but I'm open to suggestion, including things involving future picks.
Well when it comes to the Giants the workout bonuses are generally tied to showing up for the offseason workouts. So maybe I am biased there. The OBJ contract for example has a million dollars a year that is tied to showing up for training camp, in theory, to provide a financial incentive to make sure he actually comes to camp instead of holding out. Some of the workout bonuses are tied to showing up for OTA's as well.
In theory my pick is coming up in 15 minutes. (#14) If anyone has trade notions, now's the time to tell me about them. Otherwise I'm likely to pick quickly so that I can get back to being productive with my work day.
Sorry, Via autosnipe, Bengals select Montez Sweat, DE - Mississippi St Packers auto select TE Noah Fant, Iowa
@Torgo Tim is the Dolphins. So maybe wait 5 extra minutes for him and if he isn’t here we’ll auto them
You do realize, this is why I dont like doing these anymore. There was no communication on timing. I didnt receive an email until 10-15 minutes ago and never was told. Kept checking the schedule under Tim's TBD with no update.
I would have researched it if I even knew we were starting today. I got my starting LB in a trade. I am driving and typing between red lights. No communication
@matthewwillson29 - still time to salvage it if you can at least name a position that you'd rather have. Tim isn't here yet and I can hold up my own pick a bit to help make it happen.
