If I remember correctly, there were several of us that speculated on the Browns doing exactly that last year.
7-29: Patriots - Jordan Miller, CB - Washington 7-30: Saints - Kiy Hester, S - Rutgers 7-31: Giants - Saquan Hampton, S - Rutgers 7-32: Patriots - Cody Barton, LB - Utah 7-33: Vikings - 7-34: Cardinals - 7:30pm 7-35: Cardinals - 8:00pm 7-36: Vikings - 8:30pm 7-37: Rams - 9:00pm 7-38: Patriots - 9:30pm 7-39: Giants (via WAS) - 10:00pm 7-40: Cardinals - 10:30pm
Tennessee Titans draft: 1-24: Garrett Bradbury, C, NCST I started the draft by trading down and picking up pick 4-4. It wasn’t a value chart win, but I figured Bradbury would still be there and I could add another pick. Bradbury immediately improves the middle of our offensive line, being a long term center and allowing Ben Jones to slide over to guard. 2-19: Jeffery Simmons, 3-4 DE, MSST Simmons is a top talent in this draft who falls a bit due to an ACL tear and some off field concerns from before college. Obviously the team would do a deep dive on him, but all reports publicly available suggest that he’s learned from his mistakes and moved on. Simmons and Casey would be a monster pairing regardless of who is rushing from OLB behind them. 3-18: Andy Isabella, WR, UMass Between Isabella and Taylor someone will be able to stretch the field opposite Corey Davis. I’m a pretty big fan of guys who simply know how to get open, the fact he’s a speedster is only a benefit. 4-4: Jalen Jelks, OLB, Oregon With the pick I grabbed for moving back I addressed our need for another EDGE. Sadly there was a run between my picks, and I don’t know that Jelks is anything special. However, he has some potential and fills a need so in the 4th I’ll live with it. 5-15: Tyree Jackson, QB, Buffalo With the fourth rounder that actually belonged to the Titans I moved back and grabbed two 5ths, the first of which is now. As I often state I hate trait-based picks early in the draft, but later on I’m okay with betting on upside like I showed here. Jackson has everything you’d want physically when designing a quarterback and then some. He’s a monster with a rocket arm, the questions are his touch and accuracy. If he develops he could be future trade bait or a starter if Maritota can’t stay healthy and if he busts you can try him at TE or LB. 5-19: Sheldrick Redwine, S, Miami Box safety with some starting upside. If nothing else should be cheap, a useful backup, and special teamer. 5-20: Khalen Saunders, NT, Western Illinois Solid player at a smaller school, we’ll see how he adjusts to the next level. Again, there’s some starting upside but if nothing else he’ll be a rotational piece of the d-line. 6-15: Myles Gaskin, RB, Washington I missed this pick because I was out drinking, but I don’t hate it. I personally would’ve picked Rodney Anderson over Gaskin if going RB here but I digress. Gaskin looks solid all around but doesn’t really blow you away in any one area. He’ll have to work hard on special teams to beat out Fluellen for the 3rd RB spot. Let’s hope he turns out better than our last UW RB, at least there’s less invested this time around. UDFA preview: There are still a few guys around that I like, we’ll see what happens.
AFC South appears to be first on the list. You better have a quick “post” finger my friend. Joe and I are every other team in that division.
I'd consider that a blessing...I like Anderson too, but the man can not stay on the football field. That's a problem.
Agreed. If I’m picking between two guys who might not make the roster though I’d prefer the one with better upside.
Here's where we stand 7-32: Patriots - Cody Barton, LB - Utah 7-33: Vikings - 7-34: Cardinals - 7:30pm 7-35: Cardinals - 8:00pm 7-36: Vikings - 8:30pm 7-37: Rams - 9:00pm 7-38: Patriots - 9:30pm 7-39: Giants (via WAS) - 10:00pm 7-40: Cardinals - 10:30pm I think for the last few picks, let's say NO auto-draft. The late owner can just make their pick when they show up.
