I agree with what you're saying about Moore. He's usually the preseason hype WR but this year it's been nothing. I'd say, as things stand, he wouldn't make the 53 if he wasn't also a special teams ace.

I think they are moving Carr around for the versatility reasons you stated. The more backups you have that can play multiple positions, the less backups you need overall (pending most starters stay healthy). Carr is also stuck behind Jimmy and Marlon at the moment so this could also be a way to put him on the field. Put Jefferson in the box and let Carr and Thomas be the deep safeties

Since we're talking about WRs, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown has been medically cleared to play. He passed his conditioning test last week when Pierce did also, so he may be practicing for tue first time tomorrow

I definitely am curious to see Brown in action. I've loved handicapping the WRs over the years. This season sounds especially tough as well, but hopefully we have a few young bucks actually worth keeping.

    Guys on the rise:
    Boykin
    Wesley
    Scott

    Guys making no impact:
    Moore
    Floyd
    Lasley

All that matters is the games though. For instance, Lasley could go off in his first opportunity in game, and that could change a lot.

  4. Kid M.V.P. Ravens

Oops, looks like Lasley already has been cut.

Crazy prediction, but what if Seth Roberts leapfrogs Moore and takes his spot and then you fill up with guys like Scott and Wesley?

There was actually a mention and highlight of Moore today! It's the first I've heard all year so I figured it deserved a mention.

Of course Wesley, Scott, and Boykin were also also mentioned to have done well as they have throughout camp. The preseason games are going to be huge for these guys, but I have an easier time envisioning Moore going from "projected starter" to "off the team".

Moore had, what seems to be, one great day filling in for Snead asthe slot receiver. That may be where he has more value at this point. So I can see him staying to be the backup to Snead, especially since Harbaugh has always loved his special teams contributions.

The only concern he should have is the fact they brought back Bryndon Trawick. Trawick was only brought back for special teams play. Of course they could keep Moore and cut Bethel to get back another mid round comp pick (they lose one due to Bethel).

In terms of pure WR battle, Boykin by all accounts has been a stud in the offseason. Scott seems to have turned the light on, and Wesley comes in 3rd at impressions from camp, he even had DBs raving about him. That's three guys at 6'4 or 6'5 with good hands. That would be a nightmare on the field. Anybody remember the 2009 week 2 game against the Chargers where Rivers set a career mark throwing to all 6'4 and 6'5 pass catchers against us?

Wow Alex Lewis has been cut. I know he has definitely had issues staying healthy, but it's still a shock to me especially this early. It's not like we've nailed down a starter yet at LG. Remember Eleumenor was a guy we wanted off the team ASAP last year? He performed better in the regular season, but by most accounts, he's stinking it up again and out of shape to boot. Maybe Ben Powers looks like a rookie stud, but you've just cut one of your backup linemen then at the same time. There must be some other players out there that are impressing the coaches enough to think that they deserve a spot.

Well Lewis was slated to be Waived but the Jets decided to trade for him for a 7th round pick in 2020. Either way, he wasn't going to start with the team this season as it was. He was injury prone and was not strong at the point of attack when he was healthy. Ben Powers will likely be the starting LG come Week 1. I hope the Ravens try to find some depth somewhere though. I do NOT want Eleu anywhere near the starting lineup and Hurst is barely serviceable as is.

Yeah chalk that up as a victory for the Ravens. We will see if the Jets med staff clears him.

Sounds like Seth and Jaleel had nice practices against the Jags. Hope these plays manifest in games.

Pretty much the bold section. I remember people raving over him his rookie season (or was it his second year) and I couldn't understand why. He was never actually good and his injury issues made that even worse. Max Williams showed more promise imo and he couldn't stay healthy either

The Ravens get a 5th rounder for Vedvik by trading him to the Vikings. By kicker standards, this is a great return. When you think about it in general though, kickers are undervalued as they directly put points on the board. Couple that with the fact that Vedvik can man 2 positions at once and save you a roster spot and he's got some legit value. The Bears had to be lookingz and the Jets just lost their kicker this morning, so I'm guessing a 5th is where the bidding war was pushed towards.

If I'm hearing this correct, it sounds like Tayvon Young is going to be done for the year. I'm worried about him going the route of Lardarius Webb.

Lamar Jackson's last 2 throws in the Packers game weren't great throws, but I think over the course of the action he has seen in the preseason, we can say that he is vastly improved in throwing the ball. He's made some really nice throws and connected on many types of routes. I'm not saying he's now Drew Brees or anything, but I think the jump into year 2 is noticeable, and I have certainly more confidence that he can do what's needed of him with his arm.

Most Likely heading to IR for sure. Serious Neck disc injury is nothing to play with. It is possible that he might not be able to return to play with it.

Lamar is going to do just fine. He will make his share of mistakes as all young QB's do but his play-making is undeniable and will make up for the majority of those mistakes. Eric DeCosta needs to find a LG in the next two weekends to take that starting spot since Elumanor got carted off the Practice Field today (I don't want him starting anyway)

Oof that left guard spot is a nightmare. It's easily the biggest hole on the team right now. I think Harbaugh is disappointed in it too because he had to feel like someone was going to step up and win the job, but no one did.

Hurst may be your best option at LG. He played the position serviceably before, and who has performed better than that at this moment? I know he's the swing tackle, but is there a reason Eluemunor or Mekhari can't come in for a few snaps for that?

If it were Ozzie, I'd imagine our LG is on another team right now and we make a trade soon. If he's not on the team, he's going to need to get up to speed fast on this offense.

Yeah I do think they will find the LG after the final cuts come out.

Paul Warrilow is a member of the Ravens!!

    ...and now he's retired.

Honestly, the only reason the Ravens brought him in was due to the injuries at ILB. They certainly want to rest Peanut, Board, and Young for the final preseason game, but with those guys out, would they even have enough ILB to play the entire game? Enter Warrilow...or exit Warrilow.
