The semi was just today lol.

 

well they are a day ahead, so isn't it Friday there? I can't keep up. I'm so sleep deprived from the Hockey game and my nephew texted me at 6 am to say his wife gave birth last night at 1:33 am. it woke me up so I'm on like 4 hrs sleep.

all I know is Andy Reid and the boys are getting their highest Curling Medal ever.

thanks he is the #3 Great nephew as he's my nephew's baby, so he can't be my nephew. haha. I have 27 nieces and nephews.

 

I know how family trees work and I didn't sense any inbreeding so ya.

 

a shootout is no way to decide a gold medal. i havent watched the game yet but im planning on it later on. women's hockey has gotten so much better over the past decade or two. the entertainment value of US/Canada is through the roof.

 

some call it "great' vs "grand" nephew.

what I don't get is the once or twice removed stuff. huh.

 

they seemed tired at the end and rightfully so. the USA defense when they carried the puck out of their zone looked slow. I don't think they could play another 20 min period. they were exhausted. I don't like the shootout either Matty. Sad to see it end like that. 2 great teams played their hearts out for 3+ hours.

 

A 2nd cousin is technically your parent's cousin's kid. But I always call my cousin's kids 2nd cousins even though they aren't technically.

 

Agreed with, Matty & Joe... shootouts suck for determining a medal game. Its beyond stupid. Tired or not has nothing to do with it, time has nothing either, play the game.

 

I thought a second cousin was my Uncle's kids ? So my Uncle is a first cousin as he is my Dad's brother and his kids are my second cousins ?

 

ok Will so play till 4 am and be slugs out there. They did play the game. they played 4 (20) min periods of it. The IOC capped it at 1 OT period and no one could score. It is what it is. It sucks, but at the pace they were playing, I don't think another 20 min period would do any good. These aren't the multi millionaires NHL'ers out there.

And most Olympic events are just mere minutes long. The event last night of going down a hill on a snowboard and do 2-3 tricks in the air is less than a minute. these women played over 3+ hrs. It's not pretty. It's not how it should end, but when is enough, enough here? It's the IOC rules.

 

Your uncle is your uncle. His kids are your 1st cousins, and their kids are technically your 1st cousins once removed, although I just call then 2nd cousins(even though they technically aren't).
