So, are you implying that a coach trotting out a hurt player to perform his job doesn't shine back on him?

The first person that should know about an injury would be a trainer, the second BETTER be the HC. The HC then must inform the GM of a need, at which point it does go on the GM to make proper moves to replace that player. However, if an injury occurs in game, the HC should make decisions that would give the team the best chance to win, which would include not using a hurt kicker to kick balls.

All that said, Schefter may just be grabbing a headline. Those misses were not short in any way, they were wide left and wide right, so there might not be much to it admittedly.

Actually, I was just being sarcastic. Sarcasm seems to go a long way around here.

    Saw this myself and thought:
    1. Bulls**t. His kicks had plenty of leg.

    2. It wasn't reported ahead of the game, so the Browns are in line for a fine.

    3. If true, who knew? If Zane kept this to himself, yikes...

    4. If true, and Hue knew, that's grounds right there for dismissal. You (1) don't carry an injured kicker, (2) you don't have said kicker attempt 44 and 52 yard field goals, or extra points - go full Tomlin and try 2-point conversions.

    Don’t ever go full reTomlin.

    1. Firehalo has reached his pinnacle. It's all uphill from here.

    2. All of this discussion is pointless. Rod Streater = Super Bowl.

Gonzo's worst kick IMO was vs Pitt. Yeah it was blocked, but if you kick a line drive, that's going to happen. Whatever the issue is with him, he has to go for the mental health of the team.

As for the "groin pull" it must have been a PR event after the game.

Guess we'll find out when the MRI results are announced.

    Also some interesting MRI results...

    Good.

    Eric Mangini keeping it 100.

    Bad.

Briean Boddy-Calhoun getting benched one game into the season?

    Ugly.

So when does the "culture changing" start?

Will he be "on time" in Belidhek land?

We may get to see how a more disciplined environment impacts Gordon's behavior / addiction.

First . . . Who the fuck is Brent Sobleski?
    • Calloway admitted on camera that he was afraid to tell the Browns about his early morning introduction to local law enforcement officers. Once the Browns' FO was advised of the event by the Strongsville PD, they confronted Calloway about it.
    • How would they have known about Kendrick's legal issue if he didn't disclose that information during his interviews? Being under a federal investigation won't come up on a Goggle search until the investigation turns into an indictment.
    • Even IF Gonzales had a groin injury (doubtful based on the distance of his missed kicks), if he didn't let the training staff know, how would anyone in the Browns have been aware of it.
Sorry, @SAS . . . This guy is just another twitter hack trying to convince the world he's the next great NFL "insider".

They actually WERE aware of the legal situation, but the way it was posed to them (and everyone else) was that he was cooperating as a victim. But he was co-operating and honest about it nonetheless.

Addressing Calloway - were they supposed to know he was pulled over before it happened? Like Lime said...they learned of it, and addressed it.

Gordon - if he is not participating in a team sponsored photo shoot how exactly are they to know? At some damn point the kid gloves had to come off and they shipped him off. Man, I really wanted him to work here, but with reports of showing up late AFTER the last 5 yrs of BS, I am glad they finally owned up and showed they're changing the culture.

    Also:

I'll admit that I follow him on Twitter, but I couldn't tell you where he's from. I follow a bunch of random people that post Browns tidbits.

Writer for Bleacher Report, Browns insider for Scout.com.

You can isolate these in a vacuum and try to rationalize/explain them, and that's fine, but the broader point is simply how much things seem to happen here. There's the frequent "Browns will be Browns" or "most Browns thing ever" for a reason...

Some - perhaps a lot - of the disclosures are on the players, but why do they feel empowered to withhold information or lie to their employer?

    This is a fair point.

Somewhat fair. Assuming Sashi would have actually used those picks. ;)

    Larry Ogunjobi thread.

In 2017, you saw him flashing this potential on just athleticism alone. Now, he's combining that with some technique improvement. Sure, I'm a homer... but this guy has Aaron Donald potential if he keeps developing like this.

3.0 sacks already on the year and would have been 4.0 had one not been negated by penalty. In case anyone's wondering, 4.0 sacks would be tied for leading the NFL.

So regardless, we give the Patriots a draft pick, and if Josh Gordon doesn't play in 10 games (likely won't this week, and they'll rest players Week 17, so there's only 12 more to go), we don't get a fifth back.

    I don't think so...

We get a 5th no matter what...the question came in the 7th going back to the Patriots if he isn't active for 10 games.

We also have (2) 7th rounders, so the language may be that they get the late 7th rounder, unless he doesn't play 10 games, then they would get the early 7th rounder. Regardless, we get their 5th rounder.
