None of that is new fire... We knew about all of this before the Hard Knocks episode on Tuesday. The important thing is whether or not he tested positive. If he was driving and suspected of being under the influence, they would have tested him. If he passes, he's got a misdemeanor for having paraphernalia in the car, if he doesn't, he is in deep shit. THAT is what we are all waiting on. I'm not sure how long it takes for the test results, but if he wasn't arrested, then the cop probably didn't suspect him of smoking in the first place.

The "I smell something" is a common excuse for a cop to have the "right" to search and seizure. It doesn't mean it actually did...but, in this case, the cop justified his search by finding the roach clip. I also thought there was a very small amount of weed or weed residue found, but it didn't mention it in the episode or this article.

Either way, he's already been charged with his misdemeanor, so I don't think it is going any farther.

I do think it's interesting that real, first-hand looks and reporting seem to contradict the twitter rumors and speculation some people on here religiously subscribe to. It's almost like one isn't likely to be true in the first place...

Hell, ive seen a guy get removed from his car due to the same "suspicion" because there was dried foliage on his window sill. Complete bs.

On a side note, today is Dez Day. I've tried to get #DezPound going...but it's not catching on. Jonathan Hankins was in yesterday or today for a workout too. Could be a day full of information.

I also saw some outlet (don't remember which one) say that they would soon have news about the Browns and a Bengal. Didn't specify Cinci and everyone was chiming in with speculation, unfortunately I haven't seen anything else and don't know who to look up to check.

Hard Knocks contains plenty of interaction between team officials and rookie receiver Antonio Callaway regarding Callaway’s recent citation for marijuana possession. But the most important interaction happens early in the episode, when Callaway is pulled over by police.

“Antonio,” the officer says in the portion of the video generated in connection with the stop, “I do smell a little bit of weed in the car. Were you smoking earlier or anything like that?”

Hard Knocks episode that focuses on whether Callaway tells the team the truth about not knowing that marijuana was in the car: If the police officer smelled it, Callaway should have smelled it, too.

And let’s rewind to the moment the car arrived from Florida. The moment Callaway opened the door for the first time, that dank, skunky, nasty smell would have smacked him in the face (or so they say).

The episode includes coach Hue Jackson on multiple occasions making it clear that he believes Callaway, but that “if I’m wrong on this one, I’m gonna have your ass.”

“I think he’s telling me the truth,” Jackson says. “He knows if he’s lying to me, then I’m done. . . . Everybody gets one Mulligan. And it better be a Mulligan when you’re telling the f–king truth. If it’s not, then I’m done with you.”

That said, who cares if Callaway was smoking weed? The NFL shouldn’t. The problem for Callaway is that the NFL does, and that the deeper issue here isn’t weed but trust. Based on the reality that there’s no way he didn’t know weed was in the car, the team’s current trust in him may be misplaced.

^^^I came to the same conclusion as this writer as soon as I saw the second episode of Hard Knocks...First of all, if all they found was a roach, then that means when the officer said, "I smell weed", he was talking about marajuana that had been smoked recently. There's no way he's smelling the unburnt weed content in a roach from outside the car...I wouldn't trust Antonio Callaway as far as I can spit. He's proven to be a liar and a con artist in the past. Plus he's just really stupid. Driving around at 3am on a suspended license with weed in the car. lol! How dumb can ya be? Dude knew he was already on thin ice... IMO Hue is being really naive sticking his neck out for this kid and telling the world how much he believes in him...

I'm hoping for the best with Callaway, but I'm expecting more stupidity. Perhaps I'm being overly cynical because of the Josh Gordon expeience...Maybe, just maybe, Juice can get through to him. Haley won't. When Haley was trying to counsel him on the show, Antonio was lookin at him like he was speaking French or something....

I love the kids' talent, but counting on him will likely be a mistake...

    True Story:

Not too long ago, I was pulled over in Queens for a tail light being out. I wasn’t smoking (at the time) and the cop asked for the standard l/r/i and then said, “Do I smell weed?” I said, “I think it’s the neighborhood, because I always smell weed around this area.” The cop smirked, gave me a warning about the light and that was that. Would this work if I wasn’t white? Who knows, but it worked that time.

I think it was in 2002, a friend and I got pulled over on Euclid near the Circle, drunk as all hell, and was let off with no warning or any sobriety test.

We decided we best foot it for the rest of the journey.

We made it to somewhere around East 98th and Hough, and was stopped on foot, immediately cuffed and hauled down to the station for processing.

Mind you, this was about 7 in the evening in early November.

Sometimes it's the melanin but sometimes it's the neighborhood.

Still better to get busted on foot than behind the wheel.

It all worked out in the end. His girl came down and picked us up and we were back to drinking and story telling by 10 that night. We finished off the night in grand fashion burning Cleveland's finest and enjoying some of the cities friendlier folks.

I received a summons in the mail that my attorney handled and I ended up paying a processing fee and a disorderly conduct fine of a couple hundred bucks without ever having to step into the courtroom.

I don't know what it's like anymore, but we used to hit up the Agora and the Flats and just get merked on a weekday night if the show was right.

    Here’s the rumored Gordon video.

    Let down.

Anybody else feeling a little concern over Jarvis' inability to play and/or practice without getting into physical confrontations?

The penalty in the Giants game was stupid. What were we three plays in? How much could anyone have gotten under his skin? And at practice, he mixes it up with Randall (Ithink), after a catch, with almost no contact???????????

This is the guy I was counting on to show how to be a Pro. I'm not yet concerned, but I certainly hope the staff is telling him, he's got to be the one to set the example, and that isn't what they were talking about.

Or maybe it's just him trying to fire up the team with some standard alpha male behavior. I don't know, but it reminded me of Odell Beckham's antics, and that I don't want.

Gordon's video efforts have always left me wondering if he gets it. This is no exception. We know he's a physical specimen, what we don't know is if he's grown up, and matured. Nothing in this to allay any fears about that IMO.

I really want to believe, but.........

    Couple thoughts:

    1. DeShone Kizer in rare mid-August form.

    2. Hope Green Bay doesn't fall for #1 and keep Kizer over Hundley. They'd be in for a world of disappointment if/when Rodgers gets an injury.

    3. Do the Steelers have even one capable NFL-caliber safety on their team?

    4. Really cannot wait for Sept. 9th to get here. Early guess: Browns by 10.
