Fucking Bruins can’t get the puck out. I’d like to see them do what TB does and have a F blow the zone in the D end making the weak side D peel off with him. Toronto real strong at that too. Just saw Tedy Bruschi, so that’s something.
Nothing beats dropping a sweet deuce at home, but the br00nz have put themselves behind the 8-ball here. Should be interesting to see if the b's can push this one too.
Down go the B's. Tampa is just the better team right now. I am optimistic going forward though. Lot young talent coming through. Not a huge Rask guy but his contract is going to keep him around at least one more year I think, which is fine because I don't think they're in win now mode yet. I hope they look to groom someone next year for the future, Whodunit is probably gone this offseason. Chara I love ya, but, when it's time it's time.
I don’t think the NHL is like other sports where there’s a defined win now mode. Get to the win now area and you’ve a got a shot. Tons of low seeds reach the Cup. That said, I agree the Bruins are a player or 2 away. I’ll also disagree with your Rask take. Feels like the consensus in Boston is that he’s terrible but people have difficulty picking more than a few goalies they’d rather have. Rask doesn’t let in many soft goals and fans point the finger at him when he gets beat by Stamkos one timers or bank shots off his own D. Clean up the D zone and he’ll be that much better. As for Chara he has definite value as the ultimate cooler and monster on the PK, but I agree it would be ideal to take some of his minutes. Biggest guy in hockey history is impossible to replace, especially the work ethis he shows the kids. Just my take, Chara drives me crazy but I think he brings so much to the table it'll hurt once he's gone. A solid top 4D addition is needed, really has been since even before losing Hamilton. A Stralman type solid minute eater or Seidenberg from years ago would be great, 30 other teams need that too. Pretty clear Rick Nash isn’t the answer up front, unless he’s willing to take a huge cut I want nothing to do with him. Excited to see Bjork get back in there. Worried Krejci will play even older next season. Worried about that Krug injury. Worried about Backes...... see Krejci. *nice to have another Bruins fan around these parts SPress.
Matty! Quitchyer bitchin. You could be a Sabres fan. I think Sweeney is better than what he's usually given credit for. You've got a nice pipeline and a city and tradition attractive to FA's. I agree with you about Chara, but if the team is less reliant on him (i.e., they bring in someone) then they'll be fine. In the bad ol' pre-Dahlin days I was very envious of your young D. You also play in a piss-poor division (four teams draft in the top 6!); while it cannot possibly be that bad again next year, it's a relatively easy path to the playoffs for the other three. As you noted, getting to the playoffs is what matters and not your seeding. Boston is almost certain to be back next season. While it's easy to spot some challenges, I can foresee them getting even better since your pipeline is producing so well.
agree. i dont like him anyway but thats a 30 year old grudge. he has done a good job cleaning it up on the fly. some bad mistakes but that's true of every organization over the past few seasons. lol, i love it.
