Anyone else ever get the feeling that a pigeon dressed as a seminole strutting and pooping all over the place just walked through the building
Guess that eliminates Mayfield from Irish's wish list I didn't know you were allowed to change criteria so late in the game
I think certain aspects in physical measurements should be curated with a more discerning eye, but they should also be weighed against some other factors. Darnold's fumble issues are not due to small hands but rather due to poor ball protection throughout his entire process and it's easily the biggest knock on his game because of how it affects him on all levels. He doesn't keep the ball high when he's moving in the pocket. He has a throwing motion that has the ball go under his hand and elbow, and that same motion that opens up fumble possibilities is a direct factor in his interceptions. If you are making slow decisions and following it up with an elongated release, defensive backs get a big advantage on breaking to the ball. Mayfield does a better job of protection throughout the entire process so his hand size questions in relation to ball security shouldn't be an issue. Teams will definitely want to try and make some kind of assessment on his ability to throw in inclement weather and I'm sure that will be a factor in Cleveland's decision.
Interesting. Makes it so that people will be in heated arguments to discredit all Senior bowl measurements from this point on, lol.
I forget who was doing the hand-stretching a few years back to make their paws appear larger... it's so ridiculous. I also think it was Geoff Schwartz (Mitch's older brother) who shared an anecdote of being measured a full inch shorter from Mobile to Indy.
Mock Draft Change Alert!! 1 - Baker Mayfield 2 - Saquon Barkley 3 - Bradley Chubb 4 - TRADING FRENZY FOR SAM DARNOLD/JOSH ROSEN
What excuses? 9 1/4 still hits the threshold. I don't care what hand size Mayfield brings to the table... he's QB1 and it's not close.
