Quarterback Musical Chairs For all the potential movements this offseason, we could also be looking at a very tame free agency and trading period with signal callers. Very well could be vanilla: Drew Brees - re-signs with New Orleans Kirk Cousins - re-signs with Washington after testing market and not getting exorbitant asking price Blake Bortles - tagged by Jacksonville Eli Manning - stays with New York, still under contract for two seasons Alex Smith - traded to Arizona (out of conference) Tyrod Taylor - stays with Buffalo, at least through Draft Sam Bradford - retires Case Keenum - franchise tag Teddy Bridgewater - re-signs team-friendly, two-year deal to stay in Minnesota Josh McCown - re-signs with New York, expected to tutor QB picked at #6 Jimmy Garoppolo - tagged, re-signs with San Francisco A.J. McCarron - signs with Cleveland Leaves Denver out in the cold. Honestly, the only shake-up to this would be Cousins signing with Denver and everything else could play out the same, leaving Washington in the cold.
Even so... Why would the Browns go after a guy who can't beat out Dalton and likely won't win more than 1 or 2 more games than the current starter did last season. At that point I'd almost prefer a Rookie (the right one) starting and that is one idea I dislike very much.
I saw that tweet...I gotta believe that if it was true, somebody would have snapped a picture. Fake news perhaps...
Pat Haden = Baker Mayfield. I like smurfs, smurfs smile a lot and say things like love, family and devotion. Do you want a qb for a couple of years or 14? Give me Rosen.
lol! Why does he have to be Pat Haden? I get it, because he's roughly the same height.... Drew Brees smiles and loves his family too, and he's getting ready for his 18th season. Still going strong might I add....His next stop will be in Canton. Once there he will hook up with Fran Tarkenton, who played for nearly 20 years as well...Being short, doesn't mean he can't make it. Who smiles more than Russell Wilson? Word is Rosen's teammates hate him and so does everyone else. Sounds like another Jeff George to me.....no thanks.
^^ UCLA C Dan Quessenberry said that criticism of QB Josh Rosen's personality and demeanor "really irks me." "Whether they’re saying he has off-the-field issues — he has none — or that he’s too vocal about something he believes in. I don’t see that as a problem," Quessenbery said when speaking with Pro Football Weekly. He additionally ticked off that it's "100-percent not true" that Rosen's teammates disliked him at UCLA and called the quarterback a "great human being." It should be noted that Quessenbery and Rosen are tight friends, but that doesn't necessarily dilute the former's testimony in our books. Quessenberry is a highly respected player both on and off the field. The center said that he would vouch for Rosen's character with any NFL team that asks. As for the football part of the equation, Quessenberry was downright effusive in his praise. Source: Pro Football Weekly Jan 25 - 2:48 PM
I remember those classic battles with Tarkenton's Vikings....Great late 70's QB match-up. I'v got a few of these cards in the collection..
This one is the best though....I can only remember his last few years in the league, but he was my favorite player up to that point: This card is in my collection too, though it's a rookie card and it came out long before I was around...
We all know the odds are stacked against a 6 foot tall QB....Every so often a player comes along that defies the odds. Believe...
