Didn't think they could get by the Yanks, and certainly not as convincingly as they did...even less confidence against the Astros wagon that cruised to 103 wins and then flipped the switch and thrashed Cleveland, but hoping they can prove me wrong again. Pulling for the Brewers on the other side.
Im not sure the Indians were very good after-all… beating up on a sub-par Central didn't help them. I thought less of the Indians than most of the squads going into the postseason. Red Sox and Astros is very interesting... im torn as to who I want or think will win that series. Brewers and Dodgers looks like a fun one too. I kinda think the Brewers will surprise the Dodgers. I'll go ahead and say, Red Sox / Brewers WS also. Out side of still being a Justin Verlander fan, im not real fond of the Astros.
all that Yankee power and they scored 4 or 5 runs in the total series. Sox-'Stros should be fun and a battle of 2 heavyweights. Brewers look strong and it seems like LA just coasts into the NLCS every damn year. predictions - Sox in 7, Brewers in 6. WS- Sox in 6.
Perhaps, but I felt like the Indians were still a pretty good team with a manager with a great post-season track record and would be a tough out for anyone...I think the result of that series had more to do with how much better the Astros really are than their record than the Indians were worse than theirs. As I said a while back, one big thing the Sox have going in their favor is that they have HFA, but that Astros team just looks like a buzzsaw right now.
NL Championship Series (2-3-2 format): Dodgers vs. Brewers Game 1 is Friday on FS1, 8:09 p.m. ET Home-field advantage in this best-of-seven series (Games 1-2 and 6-7) goes to the Division Series winner with the higher regular-season winning percentage, but never a Wild Card team. That will be Milwaukee, which finished the regular season as the NL's top seed after defeating the Cubs in a one-game tiebreaker to win the Central. The Brewers, who have won 11 straight games dating back to the regular season, swept the Rockies in the NLDS to advance, while the Dodgers bested the Braves in four games. This is the first postseason meeting between Los Angeles and Milwaukee. Los Angeles won the regular season series, 4-3.
AL Championship Series (2-3-2 format): Red Sox vs. Astros Game 1 is Saturday on TBS, 8:09 p.m. ET This year's ALCS is a rematch of last year's ALDS, which Houston won in four games en route to the franchise's first title. Home-field advantage in this best-of-seven series (Games 1-2 and 6-7) goes the Division Series winner with the higher regular-season winning percentage, but never a Wild Card team. That's the Red Sox, who won an MLB-best 108 games in the regular season. This marks the 23rd time since the Wild Card era began in 1995 that teams have met in the playoffs in consecutive years. It's the fifth for the Red Sox -- first since they faced the Angels in three straight years from 2007-09 -- and the third for the Astros. Houston last did it in 2004-05, when they took on the Braves and Cardinals in back-to-back seasons while in the NL. The last time two teams that met in the DS rematched a year later in the LCS was when the Tigers and Yankees did it in 2011-12.
Counsell goes to the pen in the 3rd down 1-0 lets the reliever hit and of course he crushes one 427’ to CF off the best pitcher on the planet. Playoff baseball rules.
Brewers edge past Dodgers to claim 1-0 lead in NLCS... Thanks to Brandon Woodruff‘s unexpected home run and a strong showing from Milwaukee’s bullpen, the Brewers hung on for a nail-biting 6-5 finish over the Dodgers to take a 1-0 lead in the NLCS on Friday.
Sale is looking pretty shitty today and Verlander looks pretty friggin on. That being said, I do like this Astros team(for now, if they stay good I could get sick of them) they're just built well all the way around. I still hope the fuckers get smoked in this series.
