2018 General Managers Discussion Thread

Let's wait until we have it filled up or just about filled up before we start making cuts and such.

Going over the rules, seeing if any changes have been made from last year, seems basic at the moment.

 

How goes it, Quew?

Everything is set to be the same as last season, but I'm keeping the door cracked open for some ideas we discussed and anything new that people might want to consider.

All we need is for everyone to check in, fill out some more spots and for Joe and Irish to start getting active so we can hammer out the details.

 

Everyone needs to take care of their initial rosters and cap ahead of time. last year we had trouble with some people not doing it and then having restructured contracts change their cap number and their old numbers weren't easily obtainable. That is the one bit of homework everyone needs to get done for their team ahead of time.

 

I think we should set the roster and cap freeze date now so that everyone can organize and prepare their info.

February 1st?

Plus, I'll be setting permissions for all of the managers so that they do not have a time limit on editing their own posts.

Is there anything else you can think of off the top of your head?

Would you be interested in helping out as a commissioner this season? Doesn't involve a whole lot and you can lean on Joe, Irish and myself if something comes up that you are not certain on.

Do you have anything else you can think of that we need to start looking at? I remember Beach had some suggestions but I don't think he's been through yet this week.

 

I'll need to review things. I should be able to do it by the end of the weekend. There are a few tweaks we need to make and some normal inflation updates.

P.S. I think it goes without saying but if Torgo isn't up for it you know which team Falcons Guy wants.

Yeah I'm in. Only request is that if there is a need for us to take multiple teams that I keep the Skins and/or Saints. I already have a lot of data saved. Would make it easier. And of course if there is a Saints or Skins fan that wants to take those teams on that would be awesome.

Good to see some newcomers.

It was a lot of fun last year. I was looking back on my efforts a week or so ago. Thought I did pretty well in hindsight. The drafts were probably the most interesting to reflect on.

So how are we doing this? First timer here and might need some help figuring out how we do this. How do we bid on FA, make cuts, franchise tags, trades ect?
