  1. TopDawg Legend

Chargers have signed FS Tre Boston
    $6,000,000

  2. RTTRUTH Legend Manager Colts

Alright, Colts officially aren’t competing any longer

  3. RTTRUTH Legend Manager Colts

    I almost didn’t make the 10.6 offer.
But at least we did a good job driving up the price on our competition

  4. xinik Franchise Player Manager Giants

I am going to be playing UDFA at linebacker this year if Tahir Whitehead and Nigel Bradham are 12 million dollar LBers...

  5. I blame Kirk Cousins

  6. xinik Franchise Player Manager Giants

Nah Kirk is going to hold a team for ransom and tie up lots of dollars that might otherwise go to players I am looking at. Let Kirk be an albatross around the necks of someone as long as it isn't my Giants... I am almost sad to see him leave Washington after screwing up their cap without doing much for them for years.

  7. I meant just for the Jets, I had put aside plenty of money for Cousins but after seeing his price I backed out. Now I'm overpaying in the already inflated LB and C market because they are major needs and I have extra money to spend.

  8. The New York Jets bid on
    Avery Williamson LB
    $10,250,000

    Previous bid: Titans
    $9,075,000

  9. RTTRUTH Legend Manager Colts

Me too. I like Whitehead a lot. He's under-rated. But Kuechly money?? I dunno...

I'm playing real life and assuming anyone I'm giving double digits to, I have tied to my cap for 4+ years. Can't get too caught up on one guy, unless that guy is Andrew Luck. And that decision was made for me.

  10. TopDawg Legend

I agree with both you and Xinik that 11.9 is too much for Tahir, and in my figuring I wasn't taking into account the rookie pool I still need to pay for. Thank you Joe for pointing that out a few moments ago..So I'm going to rescind on Tahir Whitehead.

  11. TopDawg Legend

So we'd be back to this current standing on Whitehead

    Colts bid on Tahir Whitehead
    New bid
    $10,670,000

    Previous bid
    Chargers
    $9,700,000

  12. J.G.10 Guest

49ers bid on Eric Reid: $9.25 million
    Previous bid: Titans $8.25 million
49ers bid on Andrew Norwell: $20 million
    Previous bid: Lions $19 million

  13. TopDawg Legend

And if you wanted to rescind on the $10.6 bid RT, I don't blame ya...I'll be happy to get him under $10M, which is where he should be...

  14. Torgo M.V.P. Manager Falcons

The real life Falcons did exactly that in 2013 and 2014. Mike Nolan took over as DC in 2012 and basically dismantled the team's existing LB corps. The problem was that we didn't have "real" free agents or draft picks to replace the players that he jettisoned or simply didn't want to play.

After two games and two key injuries, we were starting a pair of UDFA rookies for most of the 2013 season and signing scrubs off the street as backups.

  15. TopDawg Legend

How about Norwell?? I remember being called a homer because I drafted him with a late rd pick the year he came out....I think he'd be quite pleased with bidding like this.

  16. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

    Cleveland Browns bid on
    Jarvis Landry
    $14,000,000

    Previous bid

    Bears bid on
    Jarvis Landry
    $13,000,000

  17. RTTRUTH Legend Manager Colts

You're right. In real life I think he'll get maybe around $8 AAV. $7-$8 million.

But considering our desperation, and our top 5 available cap space, I will uphold my $10,670,000 bid. I know it's one year offers, but in my head I'm picturing a front-loaded 3-4 year offer.

    IrishDawg42 and TopDawg like this.
  18. xinik Franchise Player Manager Giants

My Giants have done it before as well...

In reality I have a young MLB I like and the switch to a 3-4 makes Olivier Vernon effectively an OLB. I just was hoping to snag a WILB but that is crazy money for one of those. When we start the next tier of free agency I hope all the rich teams spent out there ridiculous amounts of cap and I can actually get at least NFL players to fill out my roster...

  20. xinik Franchise Player Manager Giants

I do this too. I should probably play it as a one year scenario but I like to think in terms of the next 3 - 5 years not just this year when I make moves.
