I actually tried PM's first...But anyway, so at 48 hours after the bid it's just assumed that Richardson signed my offer sheet at $13M? If I would have posted that he signed for more than I bid, would that have been fair? Just trying to understand

I was unclear...I should have just posted that I signed him to $16M dollar offer sheet.

  2. I understand that but if we have Right of first refusal for Richardson. Why would we have him sign him and add him to his spreadsheet just so we can say we match and he has to undue all the work he did?

Correction...I got distracted and forgot to send it. My bad.

It's not a huge deal to me, I just want to make sure of the rules so I don't repeat any mistakes....

  4. I also don't understand the rules completely but I would imagine any bid would restart the 48 hours

I sorta figured that too, but since I was the only one with a bid, I thought maybe we could expedite the process by getting to the real numbers now...

My impatience gets the best of me sometimes...lol!

For reference, EVERY new bid/offer sheet made would require a new 48 hour clock

I just thought it would look REALLY strange bidding against myself...But I never had a doubt that Seattle was going to match $13M, so I should have upped the ante anyway...live and learn.

Yeah, that's the tricky part to an offer sheet. You only get one real shot at it..even if there was someone else bidding against you, the home town team can just sit back and let you battle it out, then swoop in and sign him at his market value.

Yes. Technically you already signed him when you called the match.

Yes but they couldn't back out anyways to make a higher bid as they would be disqualified so it's okay here since there is no compensation. Normally the tendering team needs to wait for the winning offer sheet to officially be signed by the team.

And we do have a timeline in place for it officially in the rules.
