    Follow-up....

247 Sports lists Cook as 5'11" and 202 pounds.
NFL Draft Scout lists Cook as 5'11" and 206 pounds.

    NFLDS goes on to say:

I hadn't read/heard about the shoulder issues until now, to be honest. Adding that to the pile of negatives for him and I'd take McCaffrey if I had to pick one.

  2. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

And Joe Mixon, if Dee Haslam conducts in the Combine interview and signs off on him.

As a football player, I like Mixon a lot. If it wasn't for the beatdown of the girl, he'd be ranked right near the top with Fournette and Cook IMO...Solid three down RB prospect. Though, the one to watch out for, and he might be available in the 3rd round is Mixon's Oklahoma teammate Samaje Perine. That guy is a hammer. Remember the record he set? That was unbelievable...

Perine was a freshman sensation in 2014, racking up 1,713 yards and 21 touchdowns. That worked out to an average of 6.5 yards per carry. Perine set the NCAA single-game rushing record with 427 yards against Kansas that season. He also had five touchdowns in that contest. He's is a hard-nosed physical running back.

  4. He wanted to bulk up his Jr yr so I'm not sure why he wuld want to lose weight moving on to the NFL...I'm guessing he will weigh in btwn 212-215lbs running a 4.39-4.43...btw McCaffrey over Cook LOL!

  5. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

I don't think he's planning to lose weight for the Combine, I think he's over-weighed on his school's bio page.

Not sure why that's an "LOL".

Neither projects as an every down running back in the mold of Adrian Peterson or Le'Veon Bell.

Of the two, McCaffrey offers much more reliable hands (both fumbling and catching), was more productive over the past two seasons (4,577 yards versus 4,188 yards), offers more versatility as a returner, has none of the injury or character flags that Cook has, and comes with an NFL pedigree.

  6. Sas, I respect you but if you don't think Cook is an every down RB I'm not sure what to tell you

Let me just start off by saying that I don't condone abuse, assault, and/or domestic violence. I have 3 daughters and don't believe anything justifies laying hands on women.

Now this is going to sound contradictory but didn't Mixon already get suspended and miss a year for his assault? I think there is a difference between what Ray Rice did near the age of 30 and what a young man did. I'm not excusing it in any way, shape, or form, but if the kid already "did the time" how did it all of a sudden get worse with video? The details were the same, is it just the fact that people didn't want to believe what happened?

    The simple answer is...Yes

In almost every single case, you cannot comprehend details, especially when in many cases they are vague. Video doesn't need description, it is clear and precise in what happened. Now, it doesn't always show what led up to something, but in the case of domestic violence, I really don't care what led up to something.

    Agreed.

Ray Rice is the best example. Before the tape came out, it was a 2 game suspension and hugs all around for Ray....As soon as the tape was released; @=

Ray's football career was suddenly in serious jeopardy...The tape was everything.

Words don't show the brutality of the act. Once everyone saw that knockout shot in the elevator, plus Rice's lack of immediate concern, that was it for Ray...

A picture is worth a thousand words. A video is worth a thousand pictures.

  11. No he redshirted so technically he didnt get suspended...the video was held in safe hands but Stoops saw it a little bit after the incident

  12. TopDawg Legend

lol! stopper, isn't that just wordplay? It was a suspension. You can call it a "redshirt" but the only reason he sat out was because of the assault...

The thing that is most bothersome was his "tearful remorse", that only came after the video surfaced, a full TWO YEARS after the incident....full throttle damage control time, no doubt.

This draft class looks really solid at the RB position. NFL Draft Scout has 22 players draft-able before the seventh round.

I'd expect we walk away with at least one rookie (likely drafted, not UDFA) to join the backfield in 2017.

    I'll take this one:

  14. Not really..he never lost a year of eligibility

    Link.

Fun Fact: No, I am not the aforementioned NFL scout.

  16. TopDawg Legend

I like him too. One of my faves. ..He's a bowling ball. Downhill runner with some weight to do damage on impact....Another along the same mold is:
We could possibly get Samaje in the 4th round....

The character thing scares me with Dalvin Cook, but I do love what he can do on a football field. If he falls to the second round, that would be VERY tempting IMO, but I'm still not sure if Cleveland has a strong enough locker room for character concern players...

  17. TopDawg Legend

    Another draft riser....I'll bet $$$ right now that, after the combine, there will be lots of talk of this guy going in the first round;

There's already rumors that New England loves him....It's scary to think of what he could do in that offense...

  18. I will bet $ lol

  19. I will bet $ on this as well that McCaffrey doesn't go ahead of Cook

  20. TopDawg Legend

Stopper, why is the notion that Curtis Samuel could be rumored to go in the first round worthy of an "lol" from you? Do you not understand the kind of skills he brings to the table, or what? There are several mocks that have him gone in the first round already....
