I was just reading that...Are they trying to gauge trade interest? I will still be shocked, completely, if they go a route other than Garrett...but they might see the same things on film that have me worried...
They'd definitely be playing by solely analytics if they passed on Garrett. They may need a new defensive coordinator, too, as I assume the rage-induced heart attack would sideline Gregg Williams for at least a season. Most likely, they haven't publicly closed the door on Garrett at #1 in hopes of gauging the trade market (not likely to generate a QB-type trade, so why do it) or are doing the NFL a solid by not announcing their intention prior to April 27, at 7:30 pm.
My first guess would be: The media has been regurgitating the same stories for 2 weeks straight and their hits have gone stale, so they are using this as some bait to get the draftniks to come see what they are "talking" about. I will repeat, shock is the word that comes to mind, if Myles Garret isn't on the Cleveland Browns roster come midnight April 27th.

I think Joe Mixon is the best RB....I love Fournette, but he's always banged up, and I have major health concerns for him, given his style of play.... Without the truckload of crap that comes along with him, Mixon is going top 15 .... The Issue is real though, so if I'm a GM wanting a RB in this draft, and Fournette and Cook are off the board, I'm even strongly considering this kid ahead of Mixon, which is a shame... (Alvin Kamara) Not that it factors in to the decision, but you just know the owner loves this guy... Anyway, I doubt the Browns are going to take a RB high in this draft, unless Mixon slips to #65....If that happens, I'd understand it, though I already know why many others wouldn't....If the Oklahoma coaches are willing to stick their necks out in regards to Mixon's character, then I'm okay with my team taking a chance on him in round three....
[notify]TopDawg[/notify]... It's not a bad thought, but Kamara is probably a Round 1 guy, too - especially with Fournette and McCaffrey off the board in the Top 10. Depending on how Oakland's situation with 'Beast Mode' shakes out, they could be in the market, and Green Bay is really one running back away from being a complete team. My best guess on running backs... Jacksonville #4 - Fournette Carolina #8 - McCaffrey Green Bay #29 - Kamara Philadelphia #43 - Mixon Tampa Bay #50 - Cook Which probably pushes my guy, Kareem Hunt, into the top 75 selections if teams want a running back. #65 to the Browns wouldn't be bad.
I got Foreman and Perine still ahead of Kareem for sure...Idk, i could be Island guy on the Toledo RB...
Another late round gem for Cleveland to target.....Kind of a Maurice Jones-Drew clone...Short, but not small. Super fast feet...I like him. Sorry the video isn't great...small school guy: De'Angelo Henderson, RB - Coastal Carolina
Top 5 Running Backs 1. Leonard Fournette 2. Christian McCaffrey 3. Joe Mixon 4. Kareem Hunt 5. Alvin Kamara Possible Browns: Kareem Hunt, Jeremy McNichols, Joe Mixon
Really like him, actually. Running back is tough because there's a lot of good ones - he just missed the list (#6 overall). Samaje Perine is another one who I think can have a lot of success, but just misses the "Top 5". Ultimately, it's a speed league, so those guys who are more of a "big back" will need to go to the right situations.
