I like him, but I have to agree. Mega contract for average points. I get he brings way more than points, but still, kinda awkward deal.

It’s always nice to see the Craps and BlueSkirts overpaying for mediocre players.

Senators could trade Karlsson, Stone and Duchesne this season. All pending UFAs next summer and it looks like they’ll be front runners for the right to Lose for Hughes.

I didn’t realize Stone had 62 points in only 58 games for that shithole team. I’d take him over Duchesne.

Restricted free agent center will earn $5.25 million, avoids arbitration hearing

William Karlsson signed a one-year, $5.25 million contract with the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday, avoiding an arbitration hearing.

The 25-year-old center scored an NHL career-high 43 goals (third in the NHL) last season and finished with 78 points in 82 regular-season games. Entering 2017-18, he had scored 18 goals in 183 NHL games and never had more than nine in a season.

Karlsson, whose arbitration hearing was scheduled for Saturday, can become a restricted free agent July 1, 2019.

"This is a fair deal and I'm glad it's done," Karlsson told the Golden Knights website. "It's a relief and now we can focus on the season ahead.

"... I love playing in Vegas. I couldn't imagine playing anywhere else. I'm hoping we can work out a long-term deal and I'll be here for my whole career."

I wonder why they wouldn't lock him down for a few years. Wild Bill was a good player for the Knights...

i dont like the self quote but I mentioned above Ottawa a possible front runner for the right to pick Jack Hughes.
Ottawa dealt their 1st to Colorado for Duchesne.
Ottawa might lose Duchesne, Karlsson and Stone for nothing and then not even get to use what could/should be a top 5 pick.
TB, Toronto, Boston, Fla, and now Id say Buffalo joining the conversation of divisional teams that should ragdoll the Sens all season.

Christian Dvorak's deal is $4.45 for 6 years, $26.7 total. Nice coin for the 2d rounder in 2014. He has 70 pts (30 goals) in 156 career NHL games.
