NHL.com running a story that says, Karlsson could be traded to the Lightning. That's crazy talk. Im hoping that never happens.

That's team Sweden on D, how much more can they give him than Hedman? Maybe him and Anton are talking swede to karlsson over a world cup game, doing stevies bidding.

Reported that EK will only sign an extension with TAmpa right now.

Hedman and Karlsson on the PP, not sure I've seen anything that's ever compared to that offensively.

  8. Willie Head Coach Manager News & Notes Vikings

Im hearing reports that the trade is a done deal... just waiting on the particulars.

Elliotte Friedman is denying there is a trade... better to let things work out.

I think the trade is close to agreement. Might just need Karlsson to sign a contract.

These players are taking their teams to arbitration. Teams have about 3 weeks to sign them. Usually, not many win arbitration because the team will have signed them.

Calgary Flames: Garnet Hathaway, Mark Jankowski, Brett Kulak, Elias Lindholm, David Rittich

Carolina Hurricanes: Trevor van Riemsdyk (signed)

Colorado Avalanche: Patrik Nemeth, Matt Nieto

Dallas Stars: Mattias Janmark, Devin Shore, Gemel Smith

    Florida Panthers: MacKenzie Weegar

Minnesota Wild: Matt Dumba, Jason Zucker

Montreal Canadiens: Joel Armia, Phillip Danault

    Nashville Predators: Miikka Salomaki

New Jersey Devils: Blake Coleman, Stefan Noesen

    New York Islanders: Brock Nelson

New York Rangers: Kevin Hayes, Brady Skjei, Ryan Spooner, Jimmy Vesey

Ottawa Senators: Cody Ceci, Mark Stone

Philadelphia Flyers: Taylor Leier, Alex Lyon

    Pittsburgh Penguins: Jamie Oleksiak

    San Jose Sharks: Chris Tierney

St. Louis Blues: Joel Edmundson, Dmitrij Jaskin, Oskar Sundqvist

    Vancouver Canucks: Troy Stecher

Some really good players on that list headed to arbitration.

In 2008, cliff fletcher signed jeff finger, 4yrs/$14M. At $3.5M a year, Finger thought it was the whole amount over 4 years. Fletch thought he was signing another player entirely(krause), he went on to play only 95 games.

Ennis signs 1 year $650k deal with Leafs. Possiblly a nice reward, essentially no risk.
    Screw you Toronto.

Petrovic reups in Florida, 1 year $1.95.
Good deal all around, player betting on himself is a win/win.

Florida can't afford to lose more bodies on D, even the ones that aren't very good. If Petrovic gets his head out of his ass, he can be a valuable lower-pair Dman for the team. Having a seat behind goal, I get to see him be lazy and take his eyes off the puck from up close... With Weegar going to arbitration, any uncertainty about Petro would've been bad news. I think he's getting paid too much for a guy that barely held on to the bottom of the game-day roster. With the Russian FA they signed, I'm not even sure Petro is going to be a regular starter, with Weegar/McCoshen contributing.

If he's betting on himself, he better be bringing it this year. If so, you're right - win/win. Otherwise, healthy scratch/wasted money.

Colin Miller should be a Broon, Sweeney protected the wrong Miller.
