Rubtsov is a first for sure.

I'm surprised to see a few goalies go in the first. I have zero rated with a first round grade. I'm curious to know what some of you see in them that I don't.

 

I was considering him at 29 for sure. He could be a good two way player down the road. Shame his entire U18 Russian Team failed drug tests.

I was wondering how much more he was going to slide. If he got to #37 I may have had to pull the trigger on him despite other plans.

 

I think teams should plan for taking the Best Player Available for the most part. After all, these prospects are going to need two to five years to develop, and who knows what the organization needs will be in a few years?

I do believe the league is going to place greater emphasis on speed than they did in the past. The Penguins' success will only compound that.

 

speed and a hot goalie is key to winning the cup. a few breaks along the way does help. i'll trade burrows and miller for maf.
