They say don't draft size over skill. (Toronto had issues of drafting busts because focused on size) "Biggs/schenn/KennyRyan" I also drafted a Big 220 winger with skill to help with size issue I am trying to help add some speed and skill at wing. Hurricanes lack scoring wingers. it's a "risk" but he scores,produced and had chemistry with many different linemates. I think he'll be fine of course bad development can happen or can "bust". Johnny Gaudreau came out of no where and everyone was surprised when he made the flames roster and he was like almost the smallest in the league. I don't believe in size is not coachable if he is skilled enough he deserves to be in the nhl. Who knows all players that I skipped around my spot could be nothing and he could be best "sleeper". Risk=Reward Plus I wasn't the only person that liked him around this spot too. Why take the boring/safe pick always. Anything can happen lets just wait and see.

 

I hope i'm wrong. Cody was godawful.

They aren't even alike and hodgson was bigger too and taller. Maybe you just think he is a bust so it reminded you of a bust. I remember when Canucks fans and media were shitting on the trade and calling the gm at the time an idiot for it.

 

i liked the value of logan brown and keller and mcLeod slipping due the def run. one of these centers will pan out well if not all three. i like the top three defenseman, but who knows. they all have some growing pains ahead.

 

i wouldn't mind debrincat in the mix. speed is something that can't be taught. the last i saw from some semblance of a redwings team they had helm flying up and down the ice. geez, that was years ago. fun stuff. shit, i'd like any talent in vancouver

 

what i meant was that cody scored 40 and 43 goals in the ohl before getting drafted and diddily after.

 

Cody just would not play D. I think he thought it was undignified for a player with his offensive prowess to actually play a two-way game.
But Cody did devote himself in the offseason to getting himself bigger, he was pretty ripped in he season before getting bought out.
