  2. My man Irish....I dont know how 2 break down the paragraphs into quotes but we all need some of that good stuff u smoked earlier 2day...lol...all the physical tools in the world and mayb finest ever? I dont care what system u play in he lost his job 2 JT Barrett who will likely change positions if he wants 2 play in the NFL...the film was out on him and u saw what happened...he didnt know what 2 do w the ball and was taking sacks left n right...Northern Illinois made him look silly...the same team who made Brett Rypien look like Aaron Rodgers....Minny caused him a ton of confusion which made him take 4 sacks and fumble...these are below avg teams were talking bout and he was dumb founded w talent all over the field...u want a developmental guy why not go after a Brandon Allen, who got better every yr, and has tons of game experience vs top comp

Yes, I agree 100% that he was dumbfounded, the difference is the why...

He could not play within the system. How do you explain doing what he did against good talent in 2014-15? Michigan State and Alabama? He didn't just do it, he looked good doing it. That to me says it is buried inside and a professional coach may be able to bring it out. Now in order for it to work in the pros, he will have to do more of the throwing and less of the running, but my God man...the kid can spin the ball. How can you deny that?

That is physical ability...what you are talking about is mental. Can he get over that? Who knows, but you can't deny his physical ability stopper..

  4. I just think he is in the same pool as many Div 1 QBs.....most of them can spin it, but what separates them is reading a defense, accuracy, leadership, decision making and pocket awareness...what difference do u see in Russell vs Jones?

A #1 overall draft pick vs. what we are saying as a 3rd/4th rounder...

Honestly, skill set, I would say it is fair to say they are on par with each other, almost identical. Russell couldn't adapt, but Cardale Jones is NOT Jamarcus Russell at the end of the day. We don't know that he can't adapt...He very well could end up everything that was expected of Russell.

  6. I believe I remember the slogan "suck 4 Cardale" until he played himself into a backup

  7. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

C'mon, man! It was "Fail for Cardale". ;)

Instead, we "Slacked Off for Goff".

  8. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

    How about a new slogan

    "Win for playoffs!!" ??

  9. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

It was mostly a joke. ;)

Just remember, you can't spell "Going to the Playoffs" without "Goff".

    Ha-ha, I like that!!

Part of yesterday's NFL Rumors Roundup on ESPN for Thursday:

What do you guys think about Osweiler instead of Goff or Wentz?

Did he show "enough" in relief of Manning in 2015? Some thought he might retain the starter job when Peyton got healthy, but that didn't happen...

I think he showed promise, but in order to get him, his agent will need to know he will get over payed in free agency, NOT to re-sign with the Broncos the moment Peyton Manning is released. What would it be worth to sign Osweiler and pass on one of the top 2 QBs in this upcoming draft?

Personally, I think Osweiler is too stiff. I think he holds the ball too long. When he has time, he can spin it, but honestly, I don't think he is destined to be a full time starter in this league. He can get better, after only 8 games starting in 2015, the game might slow down for him and he might get a faster release. But, he has also had 4 years to adapt to the speed, I'm not convinced he will get much better.

    @IrishDawg

    1. I doubt very seriously that Denver lets him walk, especially if Manning retires.

    2. Agree with your assessment of him. Strong arm QBs that stand 6'5" or more forever look like Derek Anderson to me.

    3. Browns are expected to tighten the purse strings in free agency. Brock could command some serious guaranteed money.

  13. If Denver lets him walk that shuld tell the Browns all they need 2 know

Not really, even with Manning out of the picture they have several HIGH PRIORITY free agents to re-sign. It may come down to economics. Now if they are certain he is a franchise QB, then sign the man and lose the less important positions, one of which could be Von Miller..

I guess it wuld (sp) tell you all YOU needed to know, because you never do any more than scratch the surface on research into your thoughts.

But Irish, let's be real - we all know how important and how tough to get an even consistently average QB is. By all accounts, Osweiller is that. Sure, the Broncos have a ton of talented, important players to re-sign, and with the current money available it's almost certain they won't be able to keep all the impactful ones. But, would you really want to risk ending up in QB hell, as I'm sure we can all attest isn't much fun? I wouldn't. If Manning retires and they let Osweiller go, the barrel is as empty as it is for any other team, if not more so. Stepping into that is only a good idea if what you have isn't really worth keeping...

To give a rough idea of contracts and numbers, and who thy might be able to re-sign:
If Manning retires, that leaves enough money to get a contract with Osweiller done, and maybe a handful left to keep one of their restricted free agents, like Brandon Marshall or CJ Anderson (those guys can cost less, because there aren't as big of bidding wars as there are for the true free agents). If they let Demarcus Ware go, they'll be fine in re-signing Miller. The guys that we may see go are Malik Jackson and Danny Trevathan. They have impact guys who they just re-signed (or likely will re-sign) at those positions already.

No way can they let Miller or Osweiller go. Replacing guys like Jackson, Anderson, Trevathan, etc. are way easier tasks than replacing either of those two. Of course, that's my opinion, and a lot of execs don't do what I would, but Elway has proven to be pretty Damn smart, to this point.

  16. Ya lets let a franchise QB walk away cause we need 2 resign other FAs....if Denv feels this way they will resign him...period end of story

  17. I should have read this 1st....someone who gets it....ya lets resign CJ Anderson or Trevathan over a possible franchise QB....makes sense right Elway

  18. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

You need a lot of help stopper...Do you actually read what people write or just assume things?

I wrote, IF THEY FEEL HE IS A FRANCHISE QB, then they have to re-sign him and let some others go...

BUT, if they feel Vonn Miller is why they won the Super Bowl, then he is priority #1

There may not be enough left after that...that is my point.

  19. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

Well, Irish, what I was trying to say is that Ware and Manning's current salaries, if both jettisoned, should cover the other guy at the same position. They should be able to sign both Osweiller and Miller. They re-signed Wolfe already, which I don't think would take priority over Miller and Osweiller if they were doubting their cash flow. If they don't re-sign Osweiller, as has been said, we need to seriously question why they think of him (though we have film to look at, if he's on the table).

  20. U made it sound like I have no idea what Im talking bout by saying they need 2 sign other FAs....if they dont sign Osweiler then they will have talks w other guys on team, but he will b #1 or #2 on their list
