I think signing Kyle Trask, Mason Rudolph or Marcus Mariota to be the bridge starter while you work through getting JJ up to speed in year 2 makes more sense than taking a swing at Rodgers or Wilson.
The Atlanta Falcons have signed defensive end Leonard Floyd, who was released by the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday, to a one-year, $10 million contract. Agent Todd France announced the news on Instagram. Floyd had 8.5 sacks last season, his first with the 49ers after signing a two-year, $20 million contract with San Francisco last offseason. He finished second on the 49ers in sacks in 2024, behind Nick Bosa, who had nine. ESPN
DeAndre Hopkins is headed to another AFC contender. According to multiple reports, Hopkins has agreed to a one-year deal with the Ravens. The initial numbers indicate Hopkins’ contract is worth $5 million with a maximum value of $6 million.
The Bosa brothers won’t be joining forces in San Francisco, after all. Via Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, free-agent pass rusher Joey Boey has agreed to terms with the Bills. It’s a one-year, $12.6 million deal. The Chargers cut Bosa last week. He was due to earn a $12.36 million roster bonus on Wednesday.
Veteran receiver Demarcus Robinson, after two years with the Rams, is staying in the NFC West. Via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Robinson has agreed to terms with the 49ers. It’s a two-year, $9.5 million deal with $6 million fully guaranteed.
The Steelers are finalizing a one-year deal with running back Kenneth Gainwell, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports. Pittsburgh lost running back Najee Harris to the Chargers in free agency, leaving Jaylen Warren, Cordarrelle Patterson and now Gainwell to take over the backfield duties. Gainwell, who turns 26 later this week, leaves the Eagles after four seasons and a Super Bowl victory. Philadelphia made him a fifth-round pick in 2021. He has appeared in 66 games with four starts, seeing action on 1,372 offensive snaps and 250 on special teams. He had 1,906 total yards and 13 touchdowns for the Eagles.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Rams have informed Kupp that he will be released on Wednesday. The new league year starts at 4 p.m. ET, so no trade could have been officially processed until this afternoon. Waiting until the start of the league year to release Kupp also allows the Rams to designate him as a post-June 1 cut. Doing so would clear $15 million in cap space later this year while passing on the designation would leave $22.26 million in dead money and clear $7.52 million in cap space.
Its finally official, Darius Slay is a Pittsburgh Steeler. 1 year @ $10M Him and Porter across from each other isnt too shabby.
Javon Hargrave agrees to two-year deal with Vikings Defensive tackle Javon Hargrave was officially released by the 49ers when the new league year began at 4 p.m. ET and he landed a new gig a short time later. Word earlier this week was that Hargrave would sign with the Vikings and multiple reports on Wednesday afternoon are that he has agreed to a two-year contract. The deal is worth $30 million with $19 million guaranteed. Hargrave tore his triceps in the third game of the 2024 season and did not return to action. He had 44 tackles and seven sacks in the 2023 regular season and 10 tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery to help the 49ers to the NFC title. The Vikings are also adding Jonathan Allen to their defensive line as they double down on adding recently released veterans. PFT
The Broncos have found the upgrade at tight end they’ve been looking for in Evan Engram. Engram agreed to a two-year contract with the Broncos on Wednesday afternoon. After the Jaguars cut him, Engram made two visits, one with the Broncos and one with the Chargers. He apparently heard what he hoped to hear in Denver. The 30-year-old Engram spent the last three years with the Jaguars after playing five seasons with the Giants. He had a career-high 114 catches for 963 yards in 2023 but took a step backward during an injury-plagued 2024 season and the Jaguars decided to move on. The Broncos hope to get him back to form. PFT
I keep seeing things about Aaron Rodgers to the Vikings maybe it's just that damn click bait always fall for that crap,it just drives me crazy when I read stuff like that its the last thing the Vikings need is a soap box drama staring Aaron Rodgers
I may not be a Vikings fan, but I live 15 minutes from the stadium and I really don't want everyone here to have to suffer through Aaron Rodgers all year long. We don't need the misery. Please, NFL teams - allow him to be a full time podcaster and stop pretending that he plays football anymore.
