Jaguars hire Anthony Campanile as defensive coordinator New Jaguars head coach Liam Coen has hired his most important assistant. The Jaguars have announced that Anthony Campanile is their new defensive coordinator. With Coen calling the offensive plays, Campanile will call the defense. The 42-year-old Campanile spent last season as the Packers’ linebackers coach and run game coordinator and was linebackers coach for the Dolphins before that. He has also been on the coaching staffs at Michigan, Boston College and Rutgers. Coming off a 4-13 season, the Jaguars need to make a major overhaul on both sides of the ball. Coen has made clear that his top priority is building an offense around Trevor Lawrence, and Campanile will get to work on building the Jaguars’ defense. PFT
Jets hire Lions assistant Tanner Engstrand for their OC job The Jets are hiring Lions pass game coordinator Tanner Engstrand for their offensive coordinator job, according to multiple reports. Engstrand also drew interest from the Seahawks, Buccaneers and Patriots, but, with what seemed like a formality, he is following Aaron Glenn from Detroit to New York. The Lions hired former Stanford coach David Shaw on Thursday to replace Engstrand as the passing game coordinator. Detroit has lost seven coaches since the season ended. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Glenn, Engstrand, defensive line coach Terrell Williams, assistant quarterbacks coach J.T. Barrett, tight ends coach Steve Heiden and wide receivers coach Antwaan Randle El. Engstrand served as the Lions’ tight ends coach and pass game coordinator the past two seasons after three seasons as an offensive assistant with the team. He was an offensive analyst for Jim Harbaugh at the University of Michigan in 2018. PFT
They certainly have fresh 'new blood' running the show in New York for the Jets. Remains to be seen what Aaron 'not new blood' Rodgers does and if Woody gets in the way.
Cowboys to hire Klayton Adams as their offensive coordinator The Cowboys have found their new offensive coordinator. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that they will hire Cardinals offensive line coach Klayton Adams. The Cowboys promoted offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer to head coach to create the vacancy. Adams spent the last two seasons on Jonathan Gannon’s staff with the Cardinals. He previously served as the tight ends coach and assistant offensive line coach for the Colts and has previous coordinator experience at the University of Colorado. Schottenheimer will call the team’s offensive plays, so that will not be part of Adams’s responsibilities with the team. The Cowboys have talked about wanting to focus on the run game and Adams’s offensive line background likely appealed to them on that front. PFT
Buccaneers to promote Josh Grizzard to offensive coordinator The Buccaneers are keeping things in-house for their next offensive coordinator. Tampa Bay is promoting passing game coordinator Josh Grizzard to the position, according to a report from NFL Media. Grizzard, 34, joined the Bucs last offseason after spending 2017-2023 with the Dolphins, working as a quality control coach and receivers coach for the franchise. He came to Tampa Bay with former offensive coordinator Liam Coen a year ago, helping the club finish No. 3 in total yards and No. 4 in points. The team’s offense was No. 3 with 4,257 passing yards and No. 2 with 41 passing touchdowns. Promoting Grizzard will keep some continuity on the staff after another offensive coordinator departed the franchise after just one year. Tampa Bay lost Dave Canales after the 2023 season as he was hired to coach the Panthers. Now, Coen has departed the franchise to coach the Jaguars. PFT
Chip Kelly will be the Raiders’ offensive coordinator Raiders head coach Pete Carroll has found his offensive coordinator. ESPN reports that the Raiders will hire former Eagles and 49ers head coach Chip Kelly to head up the offensive side of the coaching staff. It’s the first time he will be assistant in the NFL. Kelly was the offensive coordinator for Ohio State during the 2024 season, so both he and Carroll have won national titles at the college level. Kelly spent six seasons as the head coach at UCLA before making the move to Columbus and he was the head coach at Oregon for four years before being hired by the Eagles in 2013. With Kelly in place, the Raiders will now get to work on figuring out who will be executing his offensive vision at quarterback. Aidan O’Connell, Gardner Minshew and Desmond Ridder saw time at the position in 2024, but the team is expected to bring in other options for Carroll’s first season. PFT
The Raiders are going to sell their future to move up in a weak quarterback class to select Sanders and fail in epic fashion when Chip Kelly motivates him to ‘Jamarcus Russell’ …
lol, Agreed. Not real crazy about this class. Maybe they go all in on Aaron Rodgers... oh wait, that might be worse.

Kellen Moore on Saints’ head coaching job: We’ll see what happens after the Super Bowl Kellen Moore insists he’s focused on the task at hand, which is preparing to call the plays for the Eagles offense in Super Bowl LIX. Yet, the Eagles’ offensive coordinator understood why reporters from New Orleans, and elsewhere, were peppering him with questions about the Saints. Moore is expected to land the head coaching job in New Orleans after finishing his one-year stint with the Eagles in the Super Bowl in New Orleans. “Its’ obviously been a good process,” Moore said, via Brett Martel of the Associated Press. “Having an opportunity to meet with [Saints General Manager] Mickey [Loomis] and their leadership group has been great, and it’s set up in a way that allows us to focus on this game, and we’ll see what happens after that.” While attempting to sidestep the future, Moore did allow that he plans to retain play-calling duties when he becomes a head coach. “Certainly it’s a passion of mine, something that had gotten me to this place,” Moore said. “You hate to stop doing what you love as you go through this journey.” in part; PFT
Andy Reid confirms he will return to Chiefs in 2025 Andy Reid confirmed what Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said Monday night: The coach will return for a 13th season in Kansas City in 2025. “Yes, I’ll be back,” Reid said Tuesday. Reid turns 67 in March. He is the second-oldest coach in the NFL behind Pete Carroll, who is 73. But Reid said he likes what he does so much he wants to keep doing it. He said he is not motivated by becoming the all-time winningest coach or surpassing Bill Belichick as the greatest of all time. “That’s not part of it,” Reid said. “I just enjoy teaching. I don’t get caught up much in the stats or the records. I enjoy being around the guys. I enjoy football, the game. You can’t put in the hours we do and not enjoy it. I love the game.” Reid is fourth all-time in regular-season wins among head coaches at 273, and he has 28 playoff wins. He is 55 behind Don Shula, who has the most regular-season wins ever. Reid’s sixth Super Bowl berth, the fifth with the Chiefs, ties him with Don Shula for second-most appearances by a head coach behind Belichick. PFT
Sources: Saints expected to hire Eagles' Kellen Moore as head coach Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is expected to become the New Orleans Saints' head coach, barring any unexpected developments, league sources told ESPN. Moore has been the top candidate for the vacant Saints job since completing a pair of interviews with New Orleans last month. The Saints are making sure they do everything by the book so as not to break any rules and risk potential penalties. New Orleans learned from the lesson of the Arizona Cardinals, who were penalized for tampering with then-Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, whom they eventually hired as their head coach. The Saints, with their history of being in the NFL's crosshairs, don't want to bend or break any rules and therefore will wait until after Super Bowl LIX on Sunday before working to try to finalize any agreement with Moore, according to sources. The sides are not expected to have any challenges to get a deal done, sources said. Moore is expected to have his salary more than doubled, and possibly tripled, and few would be willing to surrender an opportunity like that to become one of the NFL's 32 head coaches. Moore privately has told people he is interested in and wants the Saints job, according to sources, and the Saints want him, which is why a deal is expected to get done once the sides can meet again after Super Bowl LIX, barring an unexpected breakdown in contract talks. Although he declined to elaborate earlier this week, Moore told reporters Monday that he had a "great" experience meeting with Saints general manager Mickey Loomis and other team officials in Philadelphia last week. Moore has no previous head coaching experience in the NFL but has enjoyed success as a playcaller and oversaw an Eagles attack that ranked eighth in the NFL in total offense (367.2 yards per game) this season, including second in rushing (179.3 yards per game). The Saints are the last NFL team with a current head coach opening. They fired Dennis Allen during the season, with special teams coach Darren Rizzi filling in on an interim basis. ESPN
Jaguars hire Vikings' Grant Udinski as new offensive coordinator The Jaguars have settled on their new offensive coordinator. The team announced that they’re hiring Vikings assistant quarterbacks coach Grant Udinski for the role. “Grant will bring a wealth of knowledge, energy and a winning mindset to help lead our offense here in Jacksonville,” head coach Liam Coen said in a statement. “He is a rising star in this league that has been a pillar of success for the Vikings organization and we can’t wait to have him lead our offense.” Udinski has only been coaching for six years, five of which have come in the NFL. Following a quick stint with the Panthers, Udinski joined the Vikings as an assistant in 2022. It didn’t take long for him to earn a promotion. He earned the title of assistant quarterbacks coach in 2023, and he added the role of assistant offensive coordinator in 2024. The coach’s offensive prowess garnered some attention in 2024. Udinski was described as a mentor to injured rookie QB J.J. McCarthy, and he also helped guide Sam Darnold to the best season of his career. As teams looked to Kevin O’Connell‘s coaching tree to fill their offensive holes, Udinski became a popular name on the coordinator market, interviewing for gigs with the Seahawks and Jaguars. Saints announce Kellen Moore as their new head coach Kellen Moore helped the Eagles win a Super Bowl at the Superdome on Sunday and he will now try to do the same for that stadium’s usual home team. The Saints announced that they have finalized an agreement with Moore, who was the Eagles’ offensive coordinator, to become their head coach on Tuesday. Saints owner Gayle Benson said in a statement that Moore “is the right person to help us re-establish a winning program and culture that our fans are accustomed to and have come to expect.” “I am excited to join the New Orleans Saints and deeply appreciate the faith that Mrs. Benson and the entire Saints organization have placed in me,” Moore said in a statement of his own. “I look forward to embracing the challenges ahead and am eager to get started. I would also like to thank the Philadelphia Eagles for an incredible 2024 season. I’m excited to begin this new chapter.” The Saints have not made the playoffs since 2020 and Moore will be charged with breaking that drought as soon as possible. Report: Saints working on finalizing deal to make Doug Nussmeier the OC The Saints are working to finalize a deal with Doug Nussmeier to make him their offensive coordinator, Josina Anderson of bovadaofficial reports. It will be Nussmeier’s first NFL coordinator job, but he served in that role at Florida, Michigan, Alabama, Washington, and Fresno State in the college ranks. Nussmeier and Moore have worked together at three different stops, going from the Cowboys to the Chargers to the Eagles. They both were with the Cowboys from 2018-22 before Nussmeier followed Moore to the Chargers in 2023 and to the Eagles in 2024. Nussmeier was the Rams’ quarterbacks coach (2006-07), the Cowboys’ tight ends coach (2018-19), the Cowboys’ quarterbacks coach (2020-22), the Chargers’ quarterbacks coach (2023) and the Eagles quarterbacks’ coach (2024). The Saints drafted Nussmeier in 1994, and he played five games, with two starts, in the 1996-97 seasons for the team. The former quarterback went on to success in the Canadian Football League, including a Grey Cup with the British Columbia Lions in 2000. He began his coaching career in the CFL in 1997. The Saints’ job will allow Nussmeier to move closer to his son, LSU quarterback Garrett, who is among the Heisman favorites for 2025. PFT
The Eagles are staying in-house to replace Kellen Moore. Per a report from NFL Media, Philadelphia is promoting Kevin Patullo to offensive coordinator. Patullo, 43, has been with Philadelphia for the last four seasons, having come over from Indianapolis with head coach Nick Sirianni. From 2021-2022, Patullo was the club’s passing game coordinator. The Eagles added associate head coach to his title in 2023. Patullo was also reportedly a candidate to join Moore with the Saints as offensive coordinator. But with the Eagles, Patullo will call plays. Moore has said he’ll call the offense in New Orleans. Patullo has also spent time with the Chiefs, Bills, Titans, Jets, and Colts in the pros. He’ll take over an offense that finished No. 7 in points and No. 8 in yards during the regular season, with running back Saquon Barkley rushing for 2,005 yards in 16 games. PFT
