Ugly. Just fucking ugly. 5 things that I have to say quickly: 1) My original thesis on the coaching staff not adjusting and bad play-calling after the half sticks like fucking glue. 2) Trubisky made a lot of mistakes. Cutler-esque in the 2nd half sans the turnover. 3) The refs really "let them play" in the 2nd half. And by "them", I mean the Packers. Wow, just wow. 4) Sims was much more of a factor in us losing than Trubisky. OMFG. I honestly have to wonder if he was playing for us or them. 5) The defense was gassed, under-coached, and also really bad in the 2nd half. Hard to pinpoint who is most to blame. The one thing I can say right now with absolute certainty: More reps in PS definitely would have helped us in that game. Especially reps on D to get them into some semblance of game shape. They may have been the difference. Another is that there was no singular person to blame. Nagy deserves the majority of my blame. But damn. We sucked collectively in the 2nd half. Sieve of a defense. Impotent offense. Horrible situational play-calling. Playing not to lose with 30 fucking minutes on the clock. Not making key plays. Fucktarded clock management. And if you don't believe me, just ask Nagy.... Things to Watch tomorrow or Friday at latest
Look forward to it. I've been listening to the local radio out here in Seattle, and they are not confident in their oline. The Legion of Boom they call the "Legion of Whom?" after losing Bennett, Chancellor and Sherman. If it weren't for that fucktarded meltdown in the 2nd half I would be feeling very confident about this game. The line is at -3, and it's a home game for the Bears so pretty much an even line by Vegas. I'll be at a bar come Monday so no game thread for me, and hopefully I make it back alive in the den of the enemy. I expect the Defense to take a positive step, but the Offense I am worried about. Really need to see a rebound from Trubs and Nagy.
I agree the all 22 is not pretty. It made me so angry it took me 3 times as long as it usually does because I had to keep walking away. It’s amazing how much was left on the field from both sides but mostly the offense.
Why some say 30 plays in pre season wouldn't make a difference for a guy like Erin Rodgers I can agree, but when it comes Trubisky that extra experience in a brand new offense can mean everything. How many single plays can you think of if the Bears executed could of changed the course of that game? What's good about Trubisky is he didn't force the ball, because that comes from experience is knowing what windows he can fit his throw into. He kept that ball holstered on that play to Burton in the endzone even though he appeared wide open with the safety closing. He wasn't being rushed and could of made a solid throw with a wide open lane, but until he makes similar throws like that one he will never learn what exactly his limitations are.
