Dalvin Cook says he's going to play... https://live4sportnetwork.com/dalvin_cook/dalvin-cook-ill-be-out-there-sunday/
The Vikings are 8-4 with four games remaining and will jump back into NFC North play this weekend. Minnesota will host Detroit on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. Kickoff is at noon (CT). The Vikings are in second place in the division behind the Packers (9-3). The Lions are in last place in the NFC North at 3-8-1.
Last week, Vikings receiver Adam Thielen was participating in practice and possibly on track to play on Monday night. Then, on Sunday, he abruptly was ruled out for Monday night’s game in Seattle. Then, on Wednesday, the Vikings said that Thielen wouldn’t have practiced at all, if they’d had more than a walk through. The circumstances suggest another aggravation of the hamstring injury suffered nearly seven weeks ago. Which raises real questions about when he’ll return. Thielen initially tried to return from the injury two weeks after first suffering it. He quickly exited after aggravating it. The Vikings host the Lions on Sunday, before traveling to L.A. to face the Chargers. The Vikings finish with home games against the Packers and Bears. They’ve come this far without him; it arguably makes sense to shut him down until the playoffs, as long as they keep winning regular-season games. Also not practicing, if the Vikings actually had had a normal practice, would have been left tackle Riley Reiff (concussion) and defensive tackle Linval Joseph (knee). Five other Vikings would have been limited: running back Dalvin Cook (chest), defensive end Everson Griffen (knee), safety Harrison Smith (hamstring), defensive tackle Shamar Stephen (knee), and linebacker Eric Wilson (shoulder).
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer mentioned the possibility that Adam Thielen‘s hamstring might be better today. (Narrator voice: It was not better today.) Via Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Vikings wide receiver is not practicing today. That makes it likely that he’s going to miss his fourth straight game because of the problem, and the fifth of the last six (after aggravating it early in an attempted return. They could get by without him against the Lions, but the lingering nature of the injury has to be a concern as they push deeper into December and beyond.
I just don't get Zimmer thinking here let Adam Thielen and his hamstring rest just shut him down this season and let Dalvin Cook rest and play Alexander Mattison,Zimmer needs to work on the Defense cause it needs work!
I hope Alexander Mattison gets most of the playing time...for the playoffs i want a fresh Dalvin Cook
