Of the top 25 fantasy players, which is the highest ranked that you would not care to ever draft and why?

    1 Jamaal Charles KC, RB
    2 LeSean McCoy PHI, RB
    3 Matt Forte CHI, RB
    4 Adrian Peterson MIN, RB
    5 Eddie Lacy GB, RB
    6 Calvin Johnson DET, WR
    7 Jimmy Graham NO, TE
    8 DeMarco Murray DAL, RB
    9 Montee Ball DEN, RB
    10 Demaryius Thomas DEN, WR
    11 Giovani Bernard CIN, RB
    12 Le'Veon Bell PIT, RB
    13 Dez Bryant DAL, WR
    14 Julio Jones ATL, WR
    15 A.J. Green CIN, WR
    16 Brandon Marshall CHI, WR
    17 Alfred Morris WAS, RB
    18 Zac Stacy STL, RB
    19 Marshawn Lynch SEA, RB
    20 Arian Foster HOU, RB
    21 Doug Martin TB, RB
    22 Rob Gronkowski NE, TE
    23 Peyton Manning DEN, QB
    24 Jordy Nelson GB, WR
    25 Antonio Brown PIT, WR

For me it is DeMarco Murray DAL, RB. I don't care for his running style enough to draft him anywhere near the top 2 rounds. It seems that he goes down automatically each time he reaches the 2nd level. It is like his legs are only good for 5-10 yds at a time.

I don't draft opposing NFC North players. Doesn't happen. Maybe if the Vikings or Lions are bottom-feeders and I need a RB, but... None of those guys will be on my team this year.
Notice that #'s 3-6 are all NFC North players...

Murray is a risk, but it's because of injury. Do you know he was tied for 6th in number of 20+ yard runs and tied for 3rd in 40+ yards...?

Not sure I trust Montee Ball yet. I worry that he's gonna lose a lot of touches to Ronnie Hillman.

I don't go anywhere near Marshawn Lynch. I think he hit his ceiling in 2012 and is now sliding down. Yes his age is still under the magic 30 age for rbs but I would rather jump off the wagon a year early than a year late.

Kind of agree there. He's gotten a lot of work the last three years, and with his running style - he's not a young 28.

I'm picking 10th in a 10-team PPR league, and 10-11 is too high for him; I also draft 1st in a 12-team touchdown league, and he won't be there for my second pick. So he's not really on my radar at all this year.

  6. From that list, it's either LeVeon Bell, Antonio Brown, or Gio Bernard. These will be major fantasy contributors based on their reality performances. After years of playing fantasy football I've learned to avoid drafting players that oppose the Ravens divisionally because I can't deal with the stress of benching good players. It's what I call grid irony.

I personally wouldn't take Peterson. He is going to go high and I don't like the QB situation. At his age an injury history its a big risk. Better off going with a back that will get lots of receptions.

Lots of questions throughout, beginning with Forte. I'm a fan of his but not sure of the number 3 overall grade for this season and I have a lot of doubts that his production will match that.

Lacy at 5 falls into the same category as Forte for me.

Murray is boom or bust at 8 for the most part.

Ball and Bernard have very little to base that high of a ranking on.

Peyton is too low even for a standard scoring league, you can't call him a risk for the top 25.

Nelson might not live up to the billing but he's worth the risk at 24.

    Forte

Ranked way too high for the injury risk. Sad thing is with the N North being an offensive league, he would be a serious #1 consideration without the durability issue.

If ever means right now this year. I'd say Foster, lot of miles logged under Kubiak, returning from a back injury and now a hammy has limited him early, plus a new system leaves a lot of questions. Really don't have a never ever draft guy in that top 25, I'm a little but sore at Martin for last yr but if the value was right I'd still draft him.

  11. RWC Franchise Player Ravens

I don't know if I trust Brown in the top 25 either as Pittsburgh WRs don't have a recent history of week to week consistency for points you'd want in the first 2 or 3 rounds.

Actually the WR Corp I'd like to land this year would be Alshon Jeffery, Cordarelle Patterson, and Keenan Allen, b/c you can get them later.

From what I've see so far this year You really can 2 RBs or top RBs and Jimmy Graham or Julius Thomas (etc), 3 guys like that (or like a Julio Jones), and then get your QB in the 6th like a Rivers, Matt Ryan.

Missed 5 games in six year career. Has never had severe leg, foot, knee injury. Durability is one of his strengths.

  13. RWC Franchise Player Ravens

Maybe, it's just when I draft him then, so Bears fans probably want me to stay away:)

For me it's Eddie Lacy, no doubt. He had an excellent rookie campaign, but he's got two things working against him IMO. #1, I tend to stay away from sophomore Rbs as a general rule of thumb. It seems like when rookie RBs come in strong their first year, they always seem to disappoint in their 2nd year. Secondly, with a healthy Aaron Rodgers, you can go ahead and take it to the bank that he'll not duplicate his big numbers from last year, and definitely won't be a top 5 performer either.

    Looks like a PPR list.

First one on that list for me. Le'Veon Bell.

Purely injury related, but I wouldn't take Gronk in the first three rounds. Too many other players available for my starting lineup to pass on for a guy that can score 20 in one game and be out for the season the next. Longevity gets you to the playoffs and that means having a roster full of players actually playing.

  18. Kid M.V.P. Ravens

Interestingly (and not fully related to top players), but I was in need of a TE pretty bad in the draft last night, and my top (plus backup options) were all stolen. I had Jordan Reed available, but picking him up last season and watching nearly the entire year spent rehabbing his concussion, I simply couldn't pick him again.

  19. did a mock yesterday D.Murray went about 15 th.....no way I pick him in the 1st round

  20. gidion72 Legend Steelers

Anyone who plays for the Eagles , Giants , Cowboys, Ravens, Bengals or Patriots. I couldn't ever root for a player on one of those teams to have a good game. What makes it hard is when they are playing each other and I have to pull for one of them to win!
