The current opinion is that the NFC is better than the AFC. But if you add up the wins the AFC holds a 114-108 4 game advantage. We’ Not talking about which conferences representative will win the SB. The only way you get more wins than the other conference is to beat them in the inter conference games. So with that said which do you think is better?
I don't think one or the other has an advantage. There use to be AFC dominance, but that has changed. Right now, as it stands, the best team in the NFL, the Saints, are an NFC team, so they may make the balances swing in favor of the NFC. The Chargers and Chiefs are the 2 dominating forces in the AFC and the Rams are now struggling in the NFC. Having said that, its hard to base team excellence on records only, because head to head matchups can produce completely different results, like a 8-8 team beating a 12-4 team. Its all about who is rolling at the time when it counts, right now, I think the question asked is a toss-up and the SB will decide the answer... hopefully.
I think the NFC has been the better conference in recent years, but it looks to me that the pendulum is swinging back. Honestly, I'm not sure either conference has an edge right now - I'd call it pretty even.
I went AFC... The only 4 AFC teams with a losing record against the NFC this year are the Dolphins 1-3, Jets 1-3, Jaguars 1-3 and Raiders 1-3... Three really bad teams and another that has overachieved. On the flip side, there are 7 NFC teams with a losing record against the AFC, including two bad teams that didn't win a game against the AFC in the Falcons 0-4 and Cardinals 0-4. These are both bad teams, but division leading Cowboys also have a losing record at 1-3. The rest are middle of the road teams in Giants 1-2, Redskins 1-2, Buccaneers at 1-3 and the second place Seahawks at 1-2. That would put me on the side of, are the really good NFC teams as good as the really good AFC teams? Well, top to bottom I think the mediocre teams are worse in the NFC vs. AFC... AFC: Ravens, Colts, Dolphins, Browns, Broncos NFC: Vikings, Eagles, Redskins, Panthers, Packers The top tier teams would match up like this currently: Chiefs vs. Saints, slight advantage Saints Texans vs. Rams, I would have given the advantage to the Rams 3 weeks ago, but I think it may have shifted the past two weeks Patriots vs. Bears, I would give the slight edge to the Bears here Steelers vs. Cowboys, the worst division leader from each conference.. Pitts vs NFC 3-1, Cowboys vs AFC 1-3, advantage Pittsburgh Chargers vs. Seahawks, Chargers in a landslide, in fact I put Chargers ahead of everyone but the Saints and Chiefs. Ravens vs. Vikings, this is a toss up Top tier, I would rank Saints 12 pts Chiefs 11 pts Chargers 10 pts Bears 9 pts Texans 8 pts Rams 7 pts Steelers 6 pts Patriots 5 pts Seahawks 4 pts Ravens 3 pts Vikings 2 pts Cowboys 1 pt AFC=43 NFC=35
I think the Patriots style of short underneath passes...quick throws...fast passed offense and so on is the Bears Achilles heel. Overall....I think it's pretty even. As stated above it's all about matchups and who is hot.
It's everyone's Achilles heel. no team with an actual good QB does that stuff consistently along with some actual talent throw it downfield. Except of course the Pats. So defenses don't practice except for them and that isn't enough. So Bill laughs all the way to a deep playoff run every year.
Agreed. Flip-flop the Patriots and the Texans, and I think the Bears would feast on a Houston team that's had significant problems protecting the QB. And Dallas might be 1-3 against the AFC, but two of those games came before Dallas acquired Amari Cooper, and one of those was an OT loss to the Texans.
And the Browns had (2) OT Losses and another OT Tie, what's the point? And they are 4-2 since firing Jackson/Haley
I’m the mayonnaise base kind of guy. The potatoes need to be slightly al dente with lots of celery and other added crunchy items. And of course cheese and bacon.
