What are the chances that...

Dallas loses the last game of the season in primetime to Philly to blow the division? Not saying this as a hater, I actually root for the cowboys most weeks but, I feel like this is inevitable.

When it's on the line you can count on Romo and the Boys to find a way to give it away.

This would make me happy, whether or not Philly themselves are the ones that take their spot or not. I really hope the Eagles are at a turning point but that Giants loss HURTS for tiebreakers. We need to beat Washington and Dallas needs to drop at least one more division game before the finale or else it could be a meaningless finale.

It wouldn't be the first time, and probably not the final time either.
Look at the 2006 season....Dallas was sitting at 8-4, looking to
win out and take the East and earn a playoff bye with at least one
playoff at home. What did they do? Got routed at home by the
Saints, beat the Falcons, got routed at home by the Eagles and lost at home to a Lions team that only won 3 all year. Instead of being a division champs with #2 Seed, they wound up being
only a wildcard, losing at Seattle.

It's the very definition of insanity. It's like what the chargers had going in the Norv Turner era before somebody finally came to their senses. I'd have to think there's a major change if Dallas isn't in the playoffs(maybe Jerry hires a GM?). Romo can do great things out there, maybe a more respected coach could get these guys playing to their potential. Just not sure it will ever happen with Romo. Weather it's his fault or not, these things always seem to happen. Shoulda got Jim Harbaugh coming out of Stanford.

  6. ......predicting Dez Bryant takes off his helmet (again) & throws it into the stands, after catching a one foot in bounds T.D. knocking dallas out of F.G. range , last play of the game....THUS making ROMO a NON choking Q.B. 8)

Don't know if I'd say the odds are "better than not," but with that team (and Romo) ANYTHING's possible.

But the correct answer to the poll, of course, is "Steelers suck."

Ain't happening. Jerry is, and forever will be (until death or extreme physical incapacity) the GM of Dallas. He's so desperate to want to be the guiding hand that leads the team back to glory that he fails to see that Dallas fans would worship him if he did the smart thing: step aside as GM (and be just a Bob Kraft-like owner who signs the checks), hire a football lifer, and get out of the damn way.

The Cowboys will win every game in November and the first week of December, putting them at 9 wins. There is no way any of the other shitmouth NFC East teams get to 9-7.

But they'll still collapse and blow their chance at a bye, and then lose in the first round by 40 points.

Nice work if they can get it. This consists of 4 games with
3 of them on the road and 2 of those 3 are at New Orleans
and at Chicago. The Thanksgiving game in Dallas is
against the Raiders, and Dallas is 0-3 against the AFC-West.
The only other game in this span is at New York. That one
I give to Dallas, the others I'm not so sure about.

Dallas will beat Oakland -- at home, on Thanksgiving, and the Raiders are a sub-par team (Dallas has taken care of their "lesser" opponents.)

  12. BFRLA Guest

Okay, I'll give that one to Dallas too. The Raiders
are 0-3 on the road, although those losses were at
    Indianapolis, Denver and Kansas City.

Let us ignore NYG and WAS making a comeback for now.
I checked the tiebreakers and Dallas will likely have the tiebreaker.

    Dallas is up 1-0 already.
Dallas needs to lose out in division and Philly win out for Philly to win division tiebreaker.
If Dallas loses to New Orleans then common opponents would go to Dallas (if Philly beats Arizona) or tied (if Philly loses to Arizona). However Dallas win to New Orleans and Philly loss to Arizona would give it to Philly.
If Dallas loses or draws to Oakland then Dallas owns conference record tiebreaker. Win means a tiebreaker is tied.
Strength of victory too tough to figure out yet. NFC North games will mean alot for that as will the fact that Philly beat Tampa.
Strength of Schedule is TB & ARZ vs STL & NO. That will go to Dallas.

  15. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

Yep...because, when he plays Dallas, he turns in a "Leaf-ian" performance.

  16. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

Telling you now: forget Philly and NY.

Washington's the team Dallas has to worry about. They're finally getting healthy.

Philly's D has been great since week 5. Denver was a big wake-up call. The offense has been struggling in the past 2 division games though but you can't ignore last week. There is a good chance it is back on track. Just please no more Vick.

  18. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

It's been better, but that has to be tempered with the fact that the Buccaneers, Giants, and Raiders are all among the league's worst in points scored.

  19. LAOJoe Assistant Coach Manager Patreon Silver Maple Leafs Eagles

It does. But then there are your Boys as well as just simply not looking completely duh duh as they have in practically every drive of every game through the Denver game. The next 2 games before the Bye will be key. Green Bay needs to be beat when they are down and the Redskins game will show who has the best chance to catch up to Dallas.

  20. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

Dallas has been sputtering a bit, for sure. Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe not, but their offensive woes have come with DeMarco Murray out of the lineup. He's back this week; big question is how long he can stay healthy.

    Good point. Agree.
